Maybeboard

Time for a red wedding...

So few reasons for enjoying this commander. First is the gorgeous art work. Second is the Ability. I've always kind of liked Alesha, Who Smiles at Death and this commander does a very similar thing. Imo she does it better but there are easily made arguments for either of them being better than the other. Just the ability to reanimate from the command zone has always been really strong though. Sac outlets and other ways of filling the graveyard are much easier to come by than good consistent reanimation effects. My own recommendation for graveyard decks is to put a reanimator in the command zone if at all possible.

I'm requiring all creatures to be legendary vampires. This is a significant limitation on the deck as normally any creature in is available to Olivia to reanimate. I have an aversion to exiling my own things though, so I'm working within Olivia's restriction in a totally unnecessary way. Legendary vampires though are not weak creatures. I think the deck will still prove to be strong. I've already got some pretty neat interactions without any real effort.

Oh, I almost forgot Olivia has haste, which with her ability just makes her incredible! She comes out swinging 100% of the time instead of needing to rely on Lightning Greaves showing up. This greatly reduces the chance of getting nothing out of playing her as opponents will need to have a response the turn she is played. Rather than giving them an entire lap of the table to remove her.

Mana: All things which cheat costs or produce mana.

Card Advantage: All things which draw cards or find specific cards.

Removal: All things which remove one or more opponent's resources.

Royal Court: The Legendary Vampires.

Other: Things which are too small in number for their own category.

Mountain and Swamp just to have some good interaction with cards that grab basic lands. Besides I don't think I could find 33 rakdos lands without overloading on colorless utilities.

Akoum Refuge, Bloodfell Caves, Cinder Barrens, Rakdos Guildgate, Rakdos Carnarium the standard tap lands, nothing special.

Arcane Signet, Rakdos Signet, Sol Ring, and Sword of the Animist are the fast mana rocks.

Command Tower, Dragonskull Summit, Graven Cairns, Sulfurous Springs, Tainted Peak these are the 'fast' lands.

Myriad Landscape, Evolving Wilds, and Terramorphic Expanse just nice ways of fixing mana early on, usually not needed in a 2 color deck though. However cards can be much more color restrictive than other colors in my experience.

Voldaren Estate This seems neat. I'd like to toy around with it at least.

Rogue's Passage I've won games off the back of this card way too many times. Maybe run some land destruction lol!

Sneak Attack a bit of an odd inclusion in this category but the intention is that it cheats something into play that can be reanimated for the next turn too. Overall it should save a lot of mana.

Bolas's Citadel I mean, busted card is busted. There's an interesting amount of lifegain in this deck that should keep this useful.

Buried Alive reanimator needs targets, what more is there to say? I will say it doesn't straight win the game in this deck where a lot of the times it is a huge combo enabler. So not as scary here as in other decks.

Cathartic Pyre, Cathartic Reunion, Faithless Looting, Faithless Salvaging, Thrill of Possibility, Unexpected Windfall discard to draw more. Good for fueling the fire.

Heroes' Podium servers a dual purpose here of buffing my creatures and can dig for more if I have extra mana.

Shifting Shadow I've not really had a good place for this before and I've been wanting to test it for a long while. Both grabs new creatures and fuels the reanimation. Seems like zero downside.

Village Rites Sacrifice a creature I can immediately reanimate to draw 2. Sounds great! Honestly at 1 CMC I might put this in every black deck.

Baleful Mastery

Bedevil

Blasphemous Act Amazing board wipe, usually kills everything a normal wrath would kill but can be as little as just to cast. I think I average closer to to cast though.

Bone Shards

Chaos Warp

Dreadbore

Feed the Swarm

Hero's Downfall

Infernal Grasp

Olivia's Wrath I'm looking forward to making use of this. One sided board wipe that hits with negative. Should be highly effective even at just -5, which should be easy to achieve.

Rakdos Charm

Terminate

Vandalblast

I'm not real sure yet. Possibly just some of the remaining legendary vampires. Which, at least in the case of Drana, the Last Bloodchief, would be pretty useless given the limitation I went with.

Effectiveness:

Olivia, Crimson Bride + Breath of Fury enchanted onto any other creature in the deck + one other creature. This turns into unlimited attacks as long as Olivia and the enchanted creature don't die and the enchanted creature hits a player.

Kicked Blood Tribute + Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose = kill a player, this is a one time version of what happens when those 2 enchantments are used.

Nonbos: None currently in the deck.

I think this deck should be viewed as kind of middle of the road, maybe on the low end. Say a 6 out of 10. As a result of this I'd say she shouldn't be the target at the table all the time. I don't expect needing an A+ in politics to be able to get a little breathing room while playing this one. We will see once I've played it what I think then.

The general game plan is to build up some mana and a graveyard by using the discard effects the deck has. Then get a reanimation effect going. Usually Olivia herself. If you really want to go wild get the extra combat steps. Regardless just keep chipping away through combat. This deck should out value most opponents by using that combat step every turn.
