Daxos the DiscardedCasual EDH

Commander / EDH* Discard Enchantment

The overall deck is about enchantment synergy. I then decided this wasn't enough to drive an entire deck and looked into a bit of discard synergy as well. I know discard as a mechanic has some hate towards it (at least in my playgroup) so I tried to make the discard hit everyone so you don't have to single anyone out. Also the deck isn't about them having an empty hand either but instead benefiting off them discarding cards. So I put in things like Geth's Grimoire and Spirit Cairn and Sangromancer rather than The Rack or Megrim.

There are several enchantment based threats as well as creature based threats. I don't see using Daxos the Returned too much in the early game but he could very well be a threat late in the game.

For the one tutor the deck has in Totem-Guide Hartebeest I would get either Curse of Misfortunes or Underworld Connections if those are already in play I recomend Prison Term as some solid removal.

Debt to the Deathless and Exsanguinate and Gray Merchant of Asphodel are all their to really swing life totals with your opponents late game if not outright killing them.

Some of the discard effects cause this deck to discard from its own hand as well. This is where a little bit of recursion came in to play. If you end up discarding your own cards you should discard the enchantments since you can get them back via Sun Titan or Treasury Thrull . I'm rethinking putting in Starfield of Nyx for more recursion but it does kill the tokens that Daxos the Returned spews out. However this downside to the card may not be enough to justify not playing it since it does such a superb job in this deck overall.

Also He Who Hungers can use the tokens Daxos creates but also Spirit Cairn tokens for repeatable discard for 4 mana or 2 mana respectively.

Something to consider are cards like Shackles where you can return them to the hand and retrigger Daxos the Returned or Thoughtrender Lamia but I think the affect they provide is too weak to justify the interaction here. However I could be wrong super easily.

Depending on metas you might want more graveyard hate in the likes of Rest in Peace or better cards in general such as Bitterblossom and tutors or something. Either way this deck should be fun for everyone and it may not win but I think it feels cool to play with the synergies in the deck.

**The deck is meant for cheap casual play. Nothing competitive and I'm not going to put in Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond but you can if you want!

Updates Add

I updated the description and I like where the deck is at least through gold-fishing. It may be too slow or something in which case i may have to put either more lifegain in the deck or more stax effects i.e. Ghostly Prison. Also I double tagged some cards as I thought appropriate
