My first attempt at creating a control deck. My current Meta consists only of creature based decks.

Update: I've tested it a bit and it's working so far.

My first plan, to win simply by playing jin-gitaxias did not work. Even if, he survives a whole round (which he usually does, if you have counterspells and enough mana to cast them), it is not enough to win. He gives you great card advantage and forces your opponents into topdeckmode. Nevertheless you still need Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre as finisher, because your board does not deal enough damage without them. Of course annihilator 4 is really strong, if your opponent is in topdeck mode anyway.

I tried to use just a few counterspells to control my opponents since they lead to carddisadvantage in multiplayergames. This means that you are only able to counter three things reliably: Your opponents win conditions, your opponents answers to your winconditions and your opponents card draw. It is extremly important, that your opponents never succesfully play strong carddraw like Skullclamp. If they do, they will outvalue you and you will probably loose the game, because you can't answer to all their threats. Notion Thief is therefore a very strong card, because you spend only one card to prevent your opponents from doing this. Just be careful, that noone plays a Consecrated Sphinx or you will mill yourself.

The strongest synergy in this deck is Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur + Seedborn Muse . Together they provide you with enough answers to anything your opponent might do and enough ramp to play them and one of your finishers. If you want to turn this deck into a combo deck, you could use Tooth and Nail, to put both creatures into play.
