This was my first EDH deck, starting from the Commander 2016 precon.

This build in particular focuses on establishing ramp early (typically in the form of artifacts, because we don't run many basics), and then playing Yidris and utilizing the cascade for value, which is why this deck runs a lot of pretty big spells to cascade from. The real strategy though is to use wheel spells to run through the deck quickly and then weaponize the card draw and discard it causes. It's a lot like a hidden commander deck with Nekusar being the real commander. Yidris giving access to green is pretty big though, it gives the deck lots of other types of ramp.

The most lovely thing about the deck is that it's an engine that is very efficient and powers itself. The ramp lets you play wheels early which lets you play more ramp and therefore more wheels. It can often afford to play a lot of expensive and sort of silly cards because of this and so it runs Cruel Ultimatum , Sepulchral Primordial and Diluvian Primordial .
