E.V.E. - Emmara Value Engine

Commander / EDH* Goodstuff GW (Selesnya) Tokens

Shout out to Josh Lee Kwai for inspiring this deck!

Just another Selesnya-spirited token swarming deck here, ready to swarm the board as early as possible.

Some card choices explained here

Getting Emmara out as soon as possible is the goal here, pairing her with Springleaf Drum or Paradise Mantle is pretty ideal. I am not running Greaves or Boots for her due being cheap to cast. Having a mana-rock out will be helpful as well but not mandatory. Start pumping out tokens while also tutoring for cards like Bramble Sovereign, Mentor of the Meek and Tolsimir. Getting our engine of untap, Mentor and card draw is important. Combo pieces include Emmara, Seedborn Muse, Soul/Essence Warden, Mentor of the Meek, Dawn of Hope and Quest for Renewal (when in 4 counters).
Once the draw + token engine is running in some shape (and perhaps it has some protection in the form of Shalai or Instant combat trick á la Intervention or Defenses), the deck can start looking for Secure the Wastes or Entreat the Angels to dump a lot of mana to it. Staff of Domination is also a great mana-sink to do tapping and untapping and drawing shenanigans. The deck starts sifting through its library with this drawing and look for WinCons.
Craterhoof Behemoth, Overrun and Triumph of the Hordes are the three obvious ones. If the token army reigns unopposed, it will attack for lethal after casting one of these bad boys. Other WinCons include Throne dealing lethal, grinding to Planeswalker ultimates (Huatli being the easiest) or Felidar Sovereign reaching its life total goal via Wardens.

"So how does this differ from the JLK's Emmara l Game Knights #21 piloted at the Game Knights episode?" Well, I am glad you asked! In my opinion, green has a few autoincludes, those being three cards: Autumn's Veil, Heroic Intervention and Reclamation Sage. And as it happens, both instants are amazing at protecting the board when the tokens swing for the kill. I also love to have Spot removal for pesky permanents in White-Green. I think JLK's version packs more interaction with his own board and I traded some of that away to simply say "No!" to my opponents' disruption. And in general, I am not a fan of Vehicles in Commander, outside of say... Smuggler's Copter. This deck also run's an extra tutor to look-up a combo/synergy-piece, as well as 2 other Planeswalkers within the Green-White spectrum to push the token strategy on a new level. Another surprising thing that is actually missing from JLK's deck is the classic green WinCon of Craterhoof Behemoth, Overrun and Triumph of the Hordes. And I wanted to include them here over the powerful value spells in the other deck.
