Splitting, Consuming, and Growing Ooze Tribal

Commander / EDH BUG (Sultai)

Imagine this, a deformed pile of ectoplasm is eating up your graveyard, splitting in half, and then slapping you in the face for massive amounts of damage with its mucusy limbs, and when that doesn't work, that pile of goo has friends to back it up.

My original go around to making oooze tribal didn't go so well. I had too many of them and it weighed down the deck with jank. I wanted to improve the deck's +1/+1 synergies without straying too far away from the theme that my little globs of goo had going for them. That's when I stumbled upon the graft mechanic.

After posting my original deck on reddit u/CorpulentBanana suggested taking out some of the bad ooooozes then adding more +1/+1 counter payoffs, including some graft goons. At the time I realized they were right, but frankly, I was too lazy. When returning to the drawing board, I looked again at the graft mechanic and realized how it could fulfill my flavor fantasies.

Flavorly, you play the graft creatures as a sort of food source for your oooooozes, especially the ones that can't generate their own counters. Mechanically, you're giving your ooooooozes additional bonuses for doing what they already do, protection from Sporeback Troll's regeneration and Plaxcaster Frogling's shroud, or even the card draw of Novijen Sages.

The deck's main focus is combat damage, using Herald of Secret Streams, Helium Squirter, and Hadana's Climb   to give evasion to my oooooooozes for those finishing blows. In case I can't get a suitable board state for those to work, the deck also has some 3 to 4 card infinite combos.

Combo One: Infinite Mana.

Vigean Graftmage + Incubation Druid. Pretty self-explanatory, put a counter on druid then have fun. Druid can also be replaced by Gyre Sage if it has at least 3 counters or Selvala, Heart of the Wilds if she has at least one counter or another creature with 3 power.

Combo Two: Draw your deck.

Infinite Mana + Novijen Sages + Simic Ascendancy or any other mana sink that gives counters. You can draw your whole deck, and play all the cards from it. Before you ask, Laboratory Maniac isn't in the deck yet, because I wish to playtest it without the need to win through this combo, and Lab Man doesn't add any inherent oooooooooze or +1/+1 counter synergy.

Combo Three: Lots of Ooooooooozes.

Infinite Mana + Ooze Flux + Simic Ascendancy or any other mana sink that gives counters. With the ability to put any amount of counters on your creatures you can then remove any amount to generate infinite ooooooooooozes of any size. Bonus points if you have Fathom Mage on the battlefield and remove some counters on her per ooze so you can draw infinite cards.

This is my first time actually writing a description for my deck, but I hope it did it justice.
