When I first saw the spoiler for Calix, Destiny's Hand, my gay ass fell in love and I knew, just KNEW, I had to build an enchantment deck to slot him in. Good news though, because it just so happened that I'd always wanted to build an enchantress/enchantments matter themed deck, and what's more, I'd always wanted to build Abzan, but until now never knew what exactly I wanted to do with that either. Well, this deck assembled itself in my mind surprisingly fast once I knew my theme, and I was able to play around with yet another new mechanic for me: Partner Commanders.

So, the thought behind this deck is pretty simple:

First, Tymna the Weaver is on-flavour, and gives me incentive to swing out against my opponents in order to draw cards for sweet, sweet value. Then, her buddy Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa provides her with excellent support by making all my opponent's creatures without flying or reach incapable of blocking anything I have that has power 2 or less. Awesome!

Now, the rest of the deck plays up both aspects of the commanders. The enchantment theme of the deck is fairly standard, using a full complement of Enchantress cards to amass maximum card advantage from casting enchantments and enchantment creatures, and running nice utility enchantments like Prison Term or Sphere of Safety to grant me some protection. The deck caters to Sidar Kondo's ability by focusing more on smaller creatures that will benefit from being virtually unblockable. Archon of Sun's Grace, Ajani's Chosen, and Zendikar's Roil are excellent ways to populate my board with 2/2 creatures that can then overwhelm my opponents. Doran, the Siege Tower is a secret weapon in this deck (especially paired with Phyresis hehehehe), since it turns some of my weaker creatures into legitimate damage dealing threats. For those pesky flyers, Spidersilk Armor, Corrosive Gale, and Nylea's Intervention do a great job of keeping them in line.

This is just the first version of this deck, and I will definitely be tweaking it as I playtest it, but I'm very excited with what it has the potential to accomplish, and can't wait to see how it performs!
