This deck is intended to be extremely casual. Most if not all of the other decks I play are much faster combo decks, so this list will remain very casual and very Merfolk for when I need something at this power level.

Exceptions

• ** Seahunter - The antagonist of the lore of the deck.

• ** Thassa, God of the Sea - Honorary Merfolk.

End Game Goal

The goal of the deck is to get as many untap outlets on the field as possible ( Seedborn Muse , Quest for Renewal , Merrow Commerce ) and draw/proliferate a bunch with Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca and Karn's Bastion then win through unblockable combat damage / infect with Triumph of the Hordes . With Wanderwine Prophets and a large amount of mana made possible with ramp, Zendikar Resurgent , and/or Growing Rites of Itlimoc   it is possible to generate a lot of extra turns by giving him islandwalk with Lord of Atlantis , giving non-blue players islands with Quicksilver Fountain , and sacrificing Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca each time, re-casting him after each sacrifice.

Improvements

Depending on your budget and meta the following upgrades would be definite improvements. I haven't added these to my list because I need to keep a more casual deck available.

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter - Infinite mana is nice (this would allow infinite turns with Wanderwine Prophets and the ability to untap Merfolk lets you draw your deck. Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries would be needed to win off of that

Thrasios, Triton Hero - Infinite mana outlet

Gaea's Cradle - Faster Growing Rites of Itlimoc

Better lands - Breeding Pool , Flooded Grove , etc

More control - Protecting your board with Heroic Intervention or Veil of Summer , extra counterspells / bounces / targetted removal ( Natural State , Nature's Claim , etc)
