First of all, this is a EDH deck which is not a super competitive deck to play agains pro's. It is a deck for fun to play with friends without being a 'try-hard'. So if you are interested in a pro deck, you might want to look further for other deck lists

Jodah Shrines

Jodah, Archmage Eternal is a popular and famous commander. But, this EDH deck adds the recent printed cards from the Core 2021 set. I think that those cards have great value for everyone who loves to play with a Jodah, Archmage Eternal deck. So let's see how Shrines are fun with Jodah, Archmage Eternal.

Shrines

There is a Shrine in each color. Each Shrine reflects certain, typical abilities of each of those colors. Sanctum of Tranquil Light might not that be interesting in early game. But, in late game this could be annoying as shrines stack. Sanctum of Stone Fangs is a real asset in this deck because it is one of the few cards that deals with gaining life points which are probably lost in early game. Sanctum of Fruitful Harvest is probably the best Shrine of all in this deck, as it fixes mana problems. Sanctum of Calm Waters fixes card draw and Sanctum of Shattered Heights is a real typical red threat for your opponents when all Shrines are on the battlefield. Sanctum of All makes it even worse for opponents as it triggers the Shrine abilities twice and fetches missing Shrines. In short, when all shrines are on the battlefield, you will probably be on a winning hand as it ticks all the boxes of what an EDH deck needs: control, life gain, mana fixing, card draw and creature removal.

I use these shrines, but you could also take a look at the 'Honden' Shrines such as Honden of Night's Reach. You might want to add more shrines, which I think is not a bad idea at all! Personally, I keep just these five. Let me know what you think of these Shrine enchantments. Are the Honden Shrines better? Besides, would you even rely on easily removeable enchantments?

Mana Fixing

Jodah, Archmage Eternal is a great card, but fixing mana sources for this five color deck is a barrier. Therefore, creatures like Azusa, Lost but Seeking, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove and Gilded Goose help to ramp up fast. Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath is not only a ramp card but it is also a beefy 6/6. Non creature spells such as the recent reprinted Cultivate and known cards like Fertile Ground, Seek the Horizon and Rampant Growth help out with fetching the right lands. Besides the enchantments Sanctum of Fruitful Harvest and Smothering Tithe has great value. But Smothering Tithe could be simply a bit late. Cards like Fertile Ground are simply quicker. So, you might keep Smothering Tithe for other decks. Then, when Jodah is on the board in late game, you will need other cards to easily cast all your high CMC cards. These are recent prints such as artifact bomb Chromatic Orrery and Jegantha, the Wellspring.

Controlling the Board

One weakness with a Jodah deck is that Jodah is quite vulnerable for removal and/ or fast aggro decks. Your opponent could out-ramp you or win before you even stacked enough lands. So, to control the board, especially in early game, cards like Mortify, Kaya's Wrath, Banishing Light, Eat to Extinction, Deathsprout, Fumigate, Prison Realm, Ritual of Soot, Status / Statue, Hour of Revelation and The Eldest Reborn are simple cards to get rid of your opponent's commander or other creatures. If your opponent plays a reanimating deck, Soul-Guide Lantern is an answer. If you won't use its graveyard-hate ability to empty your opponent's graveyard, you still have a simple one-time card draw artifact. The passive ability of Narset, Parter of Veils makes it harder for your opponent to fetch cards in their library while you could search for answers. Other cards like Drawn from Dreams, Abundance, Search for Azcanta   are there to draw what you really need- hopefully. When you finally got your Jodah, Archmage Eternal, you can cheaply cast cards like Beacon of Tomorrows or other 'extra turn' card.

Winning the Game

So when you fixed your mana/ land problems, controlled the board and have your Jodah, Archmage Eternal on the board, it is time to win. You could simply win with the Shrines themselves, but high CMC creatures such as Captive Audience, Deep-Sea Kraken, Dream Trawler, Kenrith, the Returned King, Nethroi, Apex of Death, Nezahal, Primal Tide, Pelakka Wurm, Titanoth Rex or Etali, Primal Storm will do the job as well. High CMC instants and sorceries such as the ultimatums, like Eerie Ultimatum, Emergent Ultimatum, Genesis Ultimatum, Inspired Ultimatum and Ruinous Ultimatum. Volcanic Vision as a back-up to recast one of these effective cards, also means a board-wipe. If Jodah, Archmage Eternal is bullied each time he enters the board, Golos, Tireless Pilgrim is a perfect answer to keep on going. Besides, Golos, Tireless Pilgrim is a potential replacement for Jodah, Archmage Eternal if you want to play this deck a little bit differently.

Yes, naturally, there are better creatures and non creature spells. Which ones would you add in this deck? And what would you change for it's win condition?
