This is my attempt at a Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper EDH deck. I'm going to try to make this concise and not a deck that goes all over the place, but when making this deck, I considered several things:

1) Lands. (Shocking. I know. But please bare with me.)

-If I wanted this deck to work, I need to ramp

-If I'm ramping, how can I abuse that?

-Once my lands are creatures how do I protect them adequately?

-What are some additional benefits of land-creatures?

2) Instants and Sorceress

-I can't run typical board wipes like wrath of God without it being devastating to me, how do I fix that?

-How can abuse Noyan's Awaken trigger?

3) +1/+1 counters

-what cards care about counters?

-What happens when someone uses a Vampire Hexmage like ability on my land-creatures?

Okay, I'll try to address all of them

Obviously Burnished Hart but she should be in almost every deck nowadays. Walking Atlas for more land fall triggers. Journeyer's Kite and other's really shouldn't have to be explained, because... well... which deck shouldn't have that?

I expect shenangans with Intruder Alarm, Vedalken Orrery, animated lands and excessive card draw. Will be nice with Emeria Angel and/or Retreat to Emeria.

I want to make sure the deck doesn't run out of steam, so I need a good amount of card draw. Rhystic Study , Reparations , various cantrips, Seer's Sundial especially with an animated Terrain Generator and Intruder Alarm and Retreat to Emeria or Emeria Angel. Each land drop can result in another land drop and card draw depending on the amount of animated lands. Coercive Portal can get more draws or can free up the board so I can swing in with some lands without much to fear.

Other cards that achieve a similiar goal: Devastation Tide, Planar Cleansing , Planar Outburst, Tragic Arrogance. These will be extra entertaining when coupled with Narset Transcendent

Look forward to animated lands, Deadeye Navigator, Intruder Alarm, and Elite Scaleguard, Archaeomancer, Augur of Bolas , Sun Titan, or Solemn Simulacrum.

Then we have a tech to protect the lands. Reparations discourges from targeting lands, but I won't be bent out of shape if they're targeted, because card draw. Terra Eternal for overall protection. Sacred Ground in case I don't have the other cards in play. This one helps with abilities that remove counters.

Counters are in place to protect against wraths, though I am screwed if I come across a Supreme Verdict. But I do have some recursion for almost every card type in the deck.

Benefits of lands being creatures: Dragonscale General , Elite Scaleguard, Abzan Falconer, Abzan Battle Priest, and as I've been saying Intrudder Alarm (which admitting does have the potential to have downsides).

Also please help: Artful Dodge or Shadow Rift ? On one hand you have two instances of envision and possibly two buffs, or you have one envision, one buff, and the possibility of another buff (card draw).

More details to come

Please make suggestions but also suggest what you believe can be cut and let me know why. Please and thank you.

Updates Add

Getting rid of Ainok Bond-Kin, Abzan Falconer, Darksteel Garrison, and Azorius Guildmage.

Replacing with True Conviction and Wonder. They provide more with same amount of cards. Looking for two more replacements.

Would love so suggestions for cuts, then I'd be more than happy to make room for some rocks.

Intruder Alarm could screw you over since you won't be getting ETB triggers when you animate a land.

As for cuts, consider cutting Deploy to the Front and Nomads' Assembly? Unless they're meta-game calls and people you play with like to make tokens, you may not be getting a lot of value from them. All the cards like Think Twice can help you make one huge land elemental.

Cards such as Aqueous Form and Shimmering Wings can let you swing with one big guy too if you stack up triggers on him. Since it'll have Indestructible/Lifelink anyway. Also Pyramids if you want. No-one will expect it!

Thoughts on adding the manlands? There's a fair few of them and they have the benefit of turning into lands the turn after you activate their ability so they're harder to kill. They keep the counters as-well. There are lots of cheap ones such as Faerie Conclave

Crucible of Worlds basically lets you play creatures from your graveyard in this deck and works great with Emeria Shepherd when recovering from boardwipes.

Also, if you'd like your own cheeky boardwipes, Mirrorweave turns all creatures into 0/0 Elementals with haste so their controller has to sacrifice them.

Also, Rogue's Passage. It gives itself unblockable!

Oh I forgot. All Is Dust. Your lands are colourless ;)

I mainly included Nomads' Assembly for the rebound. Though I would like the tokens.

I understand Intruder Alarm could have its draw backs, but my playgroup is typically creature centric. So I want to play test it first before I decide to cut it.

Plus Crucible of Worlds is far too expensive for me. I'd love to include it but currently, I can't.

I think my main concern right now is including those mana rocks.

Why not Ainok Bond-Kin? Give your lands 1st strike, more likely to survive combat.

I love the deck though, will likely be drawing from it, so thanks in advance bud!

I considered it but I thought that I'd rather have a source of life gain over first strike (may be the noob within me.) Plus if there indestructible the point is almost moot.

Reconnaissance - lets you untap all your lands post or during combat
Opposition - can be a nice lockdown
Mystic Speculation - cheap repeatable sorcery
Vanish into Memory - solid card draw + blanks removal
Rootborn Defenses - probably no populate, but nice wrath protection
Turnabout - nice surprise card
Oona's Grace - going deep, but another reusable spell

Depending on how much money you want to spend, Land Tax keeps your hand full of plains, and serves as a type of ramp. Prairie Stream wound be pretty good, and maybe Masako the Humorless to allow your lands to block even when tapped down. nice deck! +1

aHeartlessPotatoI do have Prairie Stream, I just forgot to include in. Whoops.

Land Tax is a little pricey, (not even gonna drop money on a Remand.)

And to be honest, Intruder Alarm is working like a charm. My playgroup seems very narrow-minded. "At least it'll untap my creatures too. It can stay. I'll play all the creatures I want!" Sure we had a Master Transmuter out, and Niv-Mizzet drawing a lot of cards, but at least I got to do some great shenanigans with it, Deadeye Navigator, Sun Titan, and Burnished Hart. Basically.... Yeah, I'll usually have blockers.

Where are the mana rocks? Darksteel Ingot, Chromatic Lantern, and Coalition Relic for starters. If you can afford it. Sensei's Divining Top
