This is a really cool idea. I might start slowly working on my own version. Sleepy Seizure Very rough draft atm but I've got a few things that might be worth checking out in the maybe board.

Metropolis: Join the Dance is just a sorcery with a more strict casting cost than the sorceries i already have, and that's what i'd replace with Orcish Bowmasters and Lingering Souls. Orcish Bowmasters is still 2 bodies for 2 mana, so thats good. only thing putting me off about Lingering Souls was the mana cost, but since nothing else in the deck cost 3 i think im good.

Its okay if Leylines of the Void doesn't make the cut. I mentioned it because while what you have can handle most graveyard hate in Pioneer, if an opponent starts the game with LotV, it could shut down the ability to take full advantage of your graveyard shenanigans. That's why I suggested those enchantment hate cards. My bad on not being more clear.

@TheoryCrafter thanks for the help. I’ll add these to the maybeboard for now until I have time to update again. Part of the problem is me not having a good grasp on the cardpool, so the sideboard suggestions in particular are much appreciated.

I’m not sure Leyline of the Void will make the cut, not because I think it’ll underperform but because I have a history of terrible luck with the Leyline cards—I never get one in my opening hand and by the time I draw into one it’s no longer useful.

Sounds like a plan. While testing have you considered, if only temporarily for the sake of Cathartic Pyre, replacing Fatal Push with Soul-Scar Mage? While you don't have a whole lot of noncreature spells, it can allow you the ability to wear down indestructible creatures like Darksteel Colossus.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, even if Leyline of the Void doesn't destroy your game plan, it could prove an inconvenient pain in the tail. If you concur, I'd suggest adding to your sideboard any combination of Debt to the Kami, Extract the Truth, Feed the Swarm, Pharika's Libation and Withering Torment.

I hope this helps. Happy Hunting!

Venser, Corpse Puppet — UB Proliferate Tempo Poison Deck Philosophy

This deck is built as tempo poison control, not infect tribal swarm.

The goal is not to flood the board with toxic creatures.

The goal is to:

• Stick 1–2 evasive poison threats • Proliferate repeatedly • Protect the board with interaction • Close the game with inevitability

Venser turns proliferate into board presence, allowing incremental pressure to snowball without overextending.

Primary Game Plan Early Game (Turns 1–3)

Develop mana (9 rocks total for consistency)

Deploy Venser on turn 2–3

Play evasive toxic creature (Blighted Agent / Plague Stinger / Crusader)

Hold up removal or a counterspell

This deck does not try to race. It establishes pressure and protects it.

Mid Game (Turns 4–6)

This is where the engine turns on.

Proliferate pieces like:

Contagion Clasp

Throne of Geth

Tezzeret’s Gambit

Contentious Plan

Experimental Augury

turn small poison counts into lethal clocks.

Venser generates additional board presence while proliferating.

You aim to: • Proliferate at least once per turn cycle • Keep 1–2 interaction spells available • Avoid overcommitting into board wipes

Late Game / Finishers

The deck closes games with:

Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon

Flesh-Eater Imp

Archfiend of the Dross

Corrupted Conscience

You rarely win by wide board state. You win by scaling poison counters out of nowhere.

Why 9 Mana Rocks?

The deck runs 36 lands + 9 rocks for smooth mid-power consistency.

Key ramp includes:

Sol Ring

Arcane Signet

Talisman of Dominance

Dimir Signet

Everflowing Chalice

Sphere of the Suns

Proliferate also scales certain rocks (Chalice, Sphere, Pentad Prism if included).

This ensures: • Reliable turn 4 plays • Double-spell turns • Protection mana available

Interaction Package

This deck plays real interaction.

Spot removal:

Go for the Throat

Heartless Act

Anoint with Affliction

Feed the Swarm

Counters:

Counterspell

Arcane Denial

Bring the Ending

Drown in the Loch

You protect your threat instead of overextending.

Mana Base Philosophy

36 lands for stability.

Includes:

Fetches

Underground Sea

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

Ancient Tomb

Artifact lands (synergy with Throne)

Mirrex for token pressure

This is optimized mid-power consistency without pushing into fast-mana territory.

⚖️ Power Level

Optimized Mid-Power

Not cEDH. No Mana Crypt / Mox abuse. No fast combo wins.

The deck wins around turns 6–9 through scaling pressure and careful interaction.

Play Tips

• Do not overcommit infect creatures. • One evasive threat + proliferate is enough. • Hold up interaction whenever possible. • Use proliferate defensively (Blast Zone, Ratchet Bomb). • Urborg turns utility lands into black sources — leverage this.

I'm with nawj, I think the build could benefit from more cheap sac fodder like Ichor Wellspring and Mephitic Draught which can hopefully come down turn 2 into turn 3 braids using fast mana over slower rocks like Arcane Signet since you want your 2 drop to be something you are cool with saccing.

Very cool original idea and build! Any consideration for Hidden Strings as a more value-y version of Twiddle? You might want to add a couple other creats for cipher but I think this could be really good instead of possibly Sinister Possession which doesn't care about tapping and gives your opponent all the choices.

@TheoryCrafter thanks for the input. It’s proving a tough decision; I can draw an extra card with reunion but there’s more options to pyre as you said. I can’t tell if I have just enough removal already or whether I should leave that option open. I need more games under my belt, I think.

TheoryCrafter on Pioneer MoonBounce Version 2.0

I'm not a Pioneer expert, but I'd choose Cathartic Pyre over Cathartic Reunion because its a modal spell with flexible options.

Great analysis of Torpor Orb! I had no idea it neuters so many all stars of the Legacy meta.

Your thoughts on Artificer's Intuition? Great synergy with Welder, the artifact lands and your decks CMC. Blue would open you up to Stifle as well.

Enlightened Tutor should this be main board? It can grab dreadnought, the artifact lands, Urza's Saga and for your new tech Artificer's Intuition ;)

A playset of Eater of Days seems overkill. 1 or 2 at the most.

Long_Con on Raggadraggamanadorka

Great to see another Raggadragga fan. I had a Wolverine voltron deck with a bunch of mana dorks, but then I saw Ragga and fell in love.

My deck is Raggadragga Mana Saga and I have done a lot of work in finding the most perfect mana dorks, like Biophagus, Fanatic of Rhonas, Tender Wildguide, and Torgal, A Fine Hound.

But the true insane power you can unlock in Ragga comes from power-scaling mana dorks. Heronblade Elite is one of the best for Ragga, also Kami of Whispered Hopes. I think there are 4 or 5 more. These allow a fantastically enjoyable combo with Ragga's third ability. You can even go infinite with something like Fanning the Flames with one of these guys and Ragga.

I have focused my deck on mana dorks and 7CMC+ cards (and damn I have some doozies). Last March of the Ents is almost too good with a power-scaler.

Welcome back to it! I took some time off as well (well, except for the occasional Pre-release and some Cube with a friend) and yeah, it's wild how much catching up there is to do! And it's absolutely hilarious how truly bad my old "good" decks are now!

Sorry, but I don't have any specific suggestions for Mardu Superfiends. We seem to have a TON of flying creatures locally, so keeping Planeswalkers alive has been a bit of a losing proposition for me, and I just haven't had a chance to really dive into the deck yet.

That said, you might check out some of the recent Mardu Superfriends decks here on T/O and Dihada Superfriends decks over on Moxfield.

Cheers!

ALostWanderer -
Saw your help tag so thought I'd reach out. As a disclaimer though: I've never played Tergrid (vs or myself) and I'm still working on my first Bracket 4 deck myself. So please take all this as "brainstorming", not as "recommendations" ! :-D

FIRST THOUGHTS: MANA BASE AND MANA CURVE

  • I love Salubrious Snail's manabase tool for analysing my lands, mana rocks, and rituals as I tweak a deck. If we plug your decklist in, it reports "your manabase is struggling, playing your spells 0.99 turns late on average" (with Tergid over 1.3 turns late). For Bracket 4, you'll probably want to aim for something like "... strong playing your spells [~0.2] turns late on average."
  • As you tweak the deck, I rec' taking an especially hard look at your 5-drops (which compete directly with Tergrid) and your 7-drops (which compete directly with her re-cast).

MORE B4 STAPLES? Some options to help find the cards we need and play them quickly …

MORE DISCARD EFFECTS, MAYBE?

MORE PROTECTION, MAYBE? If you find yourself needing just a touch more protection for your Bracket 4 meta: Cavern of Souls, Imp's Mischief, and oc Lightning Greaves and Swiftfoot Boots.

MORE COMBO PIECES, MAYBE?

  • As far as I can tell, you only have 2x combos in the deck (any lifegain effect + Exquisite Blood + either Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose) ... increasing the combo potential (and Tutor effects, to find the pieces) is definitely solid approach to make the deck more competitive in Bracket 4.
  • The Find my Combos page over at Commander Spellbook is a great tool, if you want to lean into combos more.

MORE STAX EFFECTS, MAYBE?

  • It’s hard to go wrong with the namesake card (Smokestack) in a Stax deck :-)
  • If you wanted to lean into Mass Land Denial a little more, I like both Contamination and Desolation.

A FEW FINAL THOUGHTS:

  • You might consider adding Feed the Swarm and/or Withering Torment ... they're IMO the best tools we have to deal with enchantments in Mono-B.
  • Braids, Arisen Nightmare maybe? I play Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER and she's amazing there ... I don’t get that many sacs from her (so she may not be as good in your deck), but her card draw is always superb.
  • I'm a fan of Malakir Rebirth, as protection when I need it and a Land when I don't.
  • I don't see anything that benefits from Reliquary Tower ... it would honestly be my first drop.
  • It's a totally small thing, but if you don't already have very distinct deck sleeves, you might consider getting some ... the last time I played vs a steal-your-things Commander everyone at the table had blue matte sleeves, and sorting out the cards afterwards was a bit of a pain :-D

Anyways, I really hope something in there ^^ proves useful, and I’m very sorry for the spam if it doesn't!

Good luck (and good skill) with the deck!
Cheers!

kamarupa on Midnight Mass

I'm not into your God themed description. Majorly gross to me.

I don't understand the need for Aether Vial here. With only 1 & 2 drops, you're going to be top decking around t4. Instead, I'd suggest using those 4 slots for 2x more lands to improve the stability of the mana base and 2x draw card spells to keep the deck from stalling out. I'd also cut Reprieve because 1) none of your creatures have ETB effects and 2) it only slows opponents marginally, where classic standby spells like Path to Exile would be both cheaper to cast and more effective. The cantrip draw card of Reprieve doesn't provide any card advantage, so it isn't really helping the deck. In it's place, I'd suggest 2x more removal spells and 2x more draw cards, bringing your draw card to 4x and your removal to 6x. For removal, I'd suggest 2x of any of the following: Path to Exile, Damn, Winds of Abandon. For draw card I'd suggest Night's Whisper, Sword-Point Diplomacy, or Tocasia's Welcome. A big advantage to running 6x+ removal spells is that when facing non-creature threats, you can sideboard out some removal to deal with Artifacts and Enchantments, etc while still having some creature removal spells. An important element to solid draw card spells is that they offer you card advantage, not just cantrip replacement.

I think it's also worth noting that Black is really only a splash in this deck and that while Black does open up effects not available in white, I'm not seeing those effects here. While Bitter Triumph is a good fit mechanically in this deck, given how many great removal spells available in white, I don't think it warrants the need for Black mana here. Similarly, Cleric of Life's Bond doesn't strike me as a 'must have' in this list. I'd say Essence Channeler would be as good or better in it's place. So it's very possible Black could be cut entirely, which would just make the deck more consistent/stable. Something like Marauding Blight-Priest would be an example of a Black spell giving the deck something White isn't going to offer. I'd also say Black offers a lot more card advantage options than White, though Tocasia's Welcome is a very solid more recent option for White that goes a long way in reducing the need to depend on Black for draw card. That said, I think Night's Whisper would be a solid choice for this deck, especially if you're dedicated to limiting the brew to 1 & 2 drops.

I want to like Giver of Runes - the repeatability of Protection is a great ability - but with Brave the Elements, I'm not convinced Giver is worth the space. If you were to go to mono-white and lose the lifegain from Cleric of Life's Bond, then I think I'd drop Giver of Runes for Soul's Attendant.

@legendofa Bingo. I tried the blue bounce method but couldn’t gain any traction with it. Too much time and resources wasted only bouncing things back to hand without moving things forward (also not drawing into a Sarkhan's Unsealing reliably enough). That’s the point I realized the usual Modern tricks and workarounds weren’t translating to Pioneer and I needed a shell this idea could fit into.

I suppose I could try different colors, but I want to give Mogis a shot and see if that goes anywhere first so for now.
