Pharika's Libation Discussion

TheoryCrafter on Syr Konrad's grave mistakes

Have you considered Planar Void? Once it goes into the Graveyard it automatically exiles. speeding up the damage your opponents. There's also the added bonus that, unlike Rest in Peace, it won't automatically exile your whole graveyard when it enters the battlefield, allowing a little bit of interaction if you so wish.

Speaking of Rest in Peace, I noticed you only have Feed the Swarm to deal with that and Leyline of the Void. May I suggest adding any combination of Introduction to Annihilation, Mire in Misery, Pharika's Libation, and Scour from Existence? All of these cards can get you around LotV's and RiP's ability to exile before your cards reach the graveyard..

Also, You may want to considerDakmor Salvage as an extra dredge card.

Hope this helps. Happy Hunting!

Hey, nice casual budget version, but are undying creatures other than Mikaeus and Flayer really worth it?

Consider more enablers to get +1/+1 counters on your creatures?

If you're going for an attacking strategy then consider a few more fliers that have some added value when they die or when they ETB?

Bloodtracker + Sword of Hours is a nice interaction. Some sac outlets are helpful to sac creatures who have counters to get their die or ETB triggers.

You have several high CMC creatures here, more reanimation and enablers could help.

Olivia, Mobilized for War is a +1/+1 counter enabler and an enabler for reanimation.

Some cards to consider cutting:

Good luck with your deck.

What TypicalTimmy said. But doesn't black already destroy enchantments? They added that recently so although it's not common yet, it's been accepted somewhat as part of the color pie. What do you think of enchantment removal like Pharika's Libation?

I love the card though, it has a great feel to it. It could fit nicely into a Theros-esque Norse mythology set, which I suppose they already did with Kaldheim but there's always room for improvement.

If it's the only enchantment your friend is running, you could consider Pharika's Libation too, but it's not a certainty this will deal with the problem.

In the same lane as Caerwyn 's suggestion, there's Cleansing Meditation which (if tresholded) will retrigger your enchantress etb effects while leaving the Pinnacle destroyed.

Armageddon usually stops green decks from winning with Helix Pinnacle too, but I'd call that an acquired taste, it's not for everyone, proceed at your own risk '^^

Swapping Nine Lives with another enchantment is always a challenge for me. Unlike before that we have Role Reversal in standard, you will need to decide when you will cast tricksters. In most cases, I would cast it if I have legal targets that are worthy to swap with. Also, a lot of meta decks right now are using enchantments which are legal targets to swap with Nine Lives using the second chapter of Tricksters. If you're worried about giving the last point of damage for nine lives, you don't need to worry about it because I have many ways to get rid of it without targeting - Cyclone Summoner , Pharika's Libation , Ugin, the Spirit Dragon , Ondu Inversion  Flip. Also, I dont really rely on Nine Lives comber per se that's why I have my wish board in different situations. There were times that Ashiok and or Kaya wins games for me without the combo.

ShiltonCDXX: that's a great addition to my wishboard. thanks for pointing me out!

Have you considered Blood Tithe ? It hits all your opponents at once and gains you life from it.

Even though your deck is not heavy into sacrifice, Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat are worth considering if nothing more than penalizing your opponents for killing your creatures.

Pharika's Libation is another card that can get rid of enchantments. Something that is important if your opponent plays Tainted Remedy , which I lost to once when playing my K'rrik deck.

Another card you may want to consider is Emissary of Despair . If your opponent has any combination of Darksteel Forge , Mycosynth Lattice , and Padeem, Consul of Innovation on the battlefield it may be your only shot at staying in the fight.

Happy Hunting!

Paandaas, we can help give you more specific advice if you show us your decklist.

Generally speaking, the following are the best sideboard options:

Cling to Dust , as King_marchesa stated above, because it’s a cantrip (draws a card at instant speed) and can eliminate a recursive threat in the opponent’s graveyard, or it could help you gain life in a pinch. Tormod's Crypt or Soul-Guide Lantern are good options as well for graveyard hate.

Feed the Swarm is critical, run 4 if you aren’t running it mainboard already, since it’s one of two black cards ever printed that remove enchantments (the second being the more expensive Pharika's Libation ).

Duress and Agonizing Remorse are ideal for analyzing your opponent’s hand (and therefore their deck strategy) and eliminating threats that you cannot remove later, like artifacts or enchantments.

Necromentia is useful for removing a specific threat completely once you learn about your opponent’s deck via Duress or some other method.

Pestilent Haze kills small indestructible creatures or targets multiple Walkers.

Epic Downfall is a possibility if you anticipate going up against large creatures.

Witch's Vengeance is very specific but could be a possibility if your meta leans heavily towards one tribal deck.

Crippling Fear is great if you are running a tribal deck to protect your own creatures.

Extinction Event is another decent sweeper you can use to your advantage.

Feed the Serpent is expensive but another removal option.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

You've got lot of fluff cards in here even for BO1 which will make it much harder to draw a snake in your opening hand. Cut Return to Nature, Pharika's Libation Mephitic Vapors Bala Ged Recovery  Flip Mythos of Brokkos Vraska, Golgari Queen (as you are looking to stomp with your snake) or at least reduce the copies, cut Staggering Insight because it is just making your manabase more awkward, cut Negate, add Saw It Coming as it is way more versatile, cut 2xFind / Finality. You might need to cut more things or add more things, but I would also highly recommend cutting down on the amount of lands you use, especially since you are playing ramp. Also cut Pestilent Haze.
