Discard with a purpose! Nath of the Gilt-Leaf turns your opponents dismay into extra doods to get in there (and yes, doods is the correct spelling here). There is a wide variety of punishments for discarding, and even more for having too many or too few cards in hand. There are also a variety of ways of making your small army of 1/1 Elves into a larger, more threatening force.

As mentioned previously, last year I took part in the Great Nath off, where 4 individuals, all playing their own Nath EDH decks, all played in the same 4-person game. Although it was very painful to watch, and even moreso to play, I am glad to say I was victorious!!
