Having access to a deathtouch/indestructible creature as your commander is insane. With Rhonas on the battlefield, monogreen virtually becomes "Witch-Maw" .

As a green deck, it ramps hard (Traverse the Outlands), deals with artifacts/enchantments and deploys big creatures, not to mention the access to the best recursion cards in the format (Greenwarden of Murasa). As a white/black deck, it kills creatures (Viridian Longbow, Lure, Revenge of the Hunted) and, at last, as a blue deck, it draws tons of cards (Rishkar's Expertise, Garruk, Primal Hunter).
