Maybeboard

If you’re going to smash face, why not do it with some style?

If you are tired of those crooked combo decks, boy have I got a cure for you. There's nothing quite like beating your opponents with honest good old combat damage. And what better way of doing this than the with Boros. The color combination has its weaknesses -- actually quite a few -- but it excels at all things combat related. When the stars align and the deck goes off, it is almost unstoppable and can kill a table in a few swings. So what is the plan, you ask?

  1. With a whopping average CMC of more than 4, we are definitely on the slower side. In the early game there is not much we can do but ramp and pray that no one else wins the game.
  2. If you're still alive? Good. Now it is time to reset the board and play threats yourself.

To accommodate for this strategy the deck is filled with ramp and board wipes. Unfortunately the mana curve suffered somewhat from this, resulting in mostly passive starts. One could certainly optimize this but this would mean dropping some of the splashy angels and I'm willing to trade off consistency for the rare moments when you obliterate an entire table in one turn through combat.
