Yet another big d*ck Jodah deck

Commander / EDH Cascade Eldrazi

MADMatths

Maybeboard

In progress -

Protection:

Jodah usually goes of in one turn. In order to achieve this, creatures such as Grand Abolisher (and maybe Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar) can prevent oponents from interfering :). I also added a counter spell, An Offer You Can't Refuse. I might even add another one to increase the chances to go off safely (maybe a Swan Song)

Appart from the pillow fort, Jodah aslo need some wrath resistance xD. Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention are here for this!

Offense:

Anyway, the best defense is offense ! I added one side wrathes, In Garruk's Wake *pp* and Ruinous Ultimatum. Some target removals, but I ensured I could target as much target as possible with each cards: Anguished Unmaking, Beast Within, Terastodon can target a non-land or non-creature permanent.

A Field of Ruin (mainly to have a plan against Maze's End combo, but could be used against a God tribal by destroying their The World Tree)

Tutors:

You want to be fast with the deck. Several tutors can help you with that:

Plan: Get as much mana as possible, and get Jodah or Fist of Suns on the board. You are ready now ready for the "Big D" turn!

Obvisouly from there your goal is to put as much card as possible on the board. The best way would be to have a tutor. For example, use Demonic Tutor *f-etch* to fetch omniscience and go off ... But if you can, use Conflux. This tutor is crazy: Omniscience for blue, Maelstrom Wanderer for green, Etali, Primal Conqueror   for red, Blood for the Blood God! for black, Atraxa, Grand Unifier for white. With one tutor, you get enough fire power to end the game completely: 0 mana for spells, cascade 8 two times + haste for creatures, a free spell from all decks, 8 damages + 8 cards, a card of each types (usualy 3-5 cards).

And if one turn is not enough, rest assured you can also use Time Stretch to get 2 extra turns (maybe more with recursion :))

Updates Add

The big Timmy update:

I stopped playing the deck for a while. It was kinda strong for the level of my pod, and flacky as well (lots of games were rough without anything to do).

I wanted to participate to a casual event last week. I wanted to bring something that I normally don't play with my pals, and Jodah brings a huge potential of both fun and crazyness. I did have to upgrade the mana base:

  • huge land upgrade, with shocks, fetches, triomes, and some spice with the new surveil lands,

  • Land oriented ramp spells: only one artifact, most of the ramp comes from lands. It is as efficient as mana rocks, because most ramp spells put the lands untapped on the battlefield. Strangely it reduces the menace generated by the deck!

I also reworked the spell list as well to get more consistent:

  • Draw: more draw spells / more effcient ones. One of the biggest includes is Blood for the Blood God!, which is even more insane than Overflowing Insight. There are 10 draw spells in the deck, with some permanent effects with Sylvan library and Up on the beanstalk.

  • More protection: two cheap counter spells to protect the big turn, two dorks to prevent opponents from casting spells while we go off. two board protections.

  • Tutors: There is no shortcut to this, the plan of this deck needs some tutors to function properly.

  • Recursion: A big upgrade as well. This deck will likely be targeted, every spell is scary xD. I put several pieces in the deck to be able to get back Omniscience or any big spell from the graveyard.
