Thromok the Insatiable is a very charismatic Hellion. So much in fact, that all the elves and goblins alike both find him irresistible. This deck is a little elves, a little goblins, and a lot of tokens and small creatures to sacrifice to Thromok.

Please let me know any suggestions you have! This deck was built with budget in mind, so while there are cards in here that are a b it pricey, I didn't purchase anything with a price tag over $5.

The goal of the deck is to flood the board with small creatures and swinging in where we can for chip damage. Many of the creatures are elves and goblins so they work well together. Once the time is right, we drop Thromok the Insatiable, eat all the little dudes, and hit someone in the face for a billion. Fun Gruul gameplay!

The goblins love tokens, so there's a lot of tokens with cards like Dragon Fodder. However, sometimes we don't want to play Thromok, because we want to knock a player out of the game once he hits the field, so if we don't have a way to give him haste/trample, or a card like Fling, we won't play him. But we still might have goblin tokens kicking around, so that's why we have cards like Goblin Trashmaster and Boartusk Liege to make them useful before being sacrificed to Thromok.

The Elves are not quite as token heavy, but they do help with ramp. Cards like Elvish Archdruid and Llanowar Elves help us jumpstart our ramp game, and also allows us to run fewer ramping spells that can't be sacrificed to Thromok.

Apart from elves and goblins, the deck features value token engines like Ant Queen, and value removal cards like Hull Breach and Decimate. Arlinn Kord   and Xenagos, the Reveler can be great producers if they aren't answered, and we can often throw a few chump-blockers in front of big attackers. Some more explosive token makers are Sylvan Offering and Tempt with Vengeance, to play the turn before Thromok for a huge payoff. We're also running Fling and Soul's Fire to double the effectiveness of a gigantic hell worm, and as my main win-the-game card, Chandra's Ignition.

A few favorites: Yeva, Nature's Herald is not only an elf, but she's a Vedalken Orrery with flash! Great with Thromok, and great for your wallet. Chariot of Victory is no longer a Theros block dirt uncommon, it gives the big two, haste and trample to Thromok for the equip cost of one! Big win. Don't be afraid to sacrifice lands with Hammer of Purphoros! Sometimes it's worth it for some extra muscle. Finally, Path of Discovery can be really good especially when paired with a huge token maker like Sylvan Offering and Second Harvest.

What do you think? Let me know how I can improve my deck. Happy Devouring!
