Hi! This is my deck!

Prismari Performance Was Fun

Similar to how this deck should be played, I'll try and make this quick.

• I got the Strixhaven Izzet precon in my earlier commander days. It was immediately scrapped for Veyran spellslinging Voltron, which I realized I wanted to add black to for tutoring. It then became this Kess Storm deck. It's fun and crazy and takes long turns and I may eventually make it CEDH, but for now I'm satisfied with it being a high power glass cannon, until I can afford free counters at least. Upgrades incoming...

Goal

The goal of the deck is simple.

• Fill your graveyard by casting and copying cantrips and tutors.

• Get Veyran and friends (Harmonic Prodigy, Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus) on the field.

• Cast Mizzix's Mastery to cast 10-30 cards for free.

• Use Fury to kill Archmage Emeritus so you don't deck yourself.

• Grab Tendrils of Agony and Grapeshot to deal a fudge ton of damage and recast them with Kess.

Why Some Odd Cards Are In It

The deck has lots of backups like Grapeshot (if Tendrils is gone or you need removal), Thermo Alchemist (lower cmc than Rockslide Sorcerer), Sorcerer Class (I've never actually cast it, but it's there in case of an emergency) and the Birgi/Grinning Ignus Combo (With Birgi on the field and 3 mana open, cast Grinning Ignus, making 1 red mana off Birgi. Use that mana to bounce Grinning Ignus and make 3 mana. Use that 3 mana to cast Ignus. Rinse and repeat for infinite storm count).

Displacer Kitten can combo with Kess if you have enough instants and sorceries in your grave.

It also has a few (strong) pet cards like Sunbird's Invocation (every cast from your hand digs and casts a free card before resolving), which has won me so many games with so many different decks (basically my favorite red card alongside Mizzix's Mastery).

Plans

Add fast and low cmc tutors like Entomb, Merchant Scroll and Mystical Tutor.

• Add free counterspells to replace some of the weaker ones.

• Add Lotus Petal, Chrome Mox and Mana Crypt to replace not so great mana rocks when budget allows.

• Remove most basic lands in favor of Scalding Tarn and Filters.
