This is a deck meant to accelerate quickly and have a wide variety of threats, in addition to being fairly versatile in responding to threats itself.

Every game will start with 3-4 lands in hand. By the time you play Azusa, you will have drawn your 5th land, and so you will end turn 3 with 5 lands nearly every game. This will then help accelerate you to dropping huge threats like Eldrazi, Vorinclex, Avenger of Zendikar, or Rampaging Baloths.

Important synergies to note are the two creatures that let you play lands off the top of your deck with Azusa. There are fetchlands in here for two reasons: one is Crucible of Worlds (thus guaranteeing your land drops every turn) and the other is these creatures, as you can shuffle your deck if there's not a land on top to play. Sensei's Divining Topfoil also fills this role.

Due to the versatility of a lot of the removal like Beast Within, Karn Liberated and the two Ulamogs, you can answer most threats, or use it to destroy your opponent's lands if you're feeling particularly vicious (like me). This is one of the cruelest, but most effective ways to shut someone out of the game.

Some particularly good tech in this deck: Hall of Gemstones is incredibly powerful, able to nearly shut down any multicolor deck while also stopping any control players from playing almost anything on your turn. If you're relying on this card, make sure to hit their mana rocks instead of lands, as those bypass the Hall.
