Serra Paragon

Creature — Angel

Flying

Once during each of your turns, you may play a land from your graveyard or cast a permanent spell with converted mana cost/mana value 3 or less from your graveyard. If you do, it gains "When this permanent is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, exile it and you gain 2 life."

Hey I stumbled upon your deck and I figured I would give you some feedback. Overall, I really like your Giada deck but I worry that your mana curve might be to high especially since you are in white. have you looked at switching out some of your higher mana costed cards for lower CMC cards? Here are a few cards I run in my Giada deck that are lower CMC and have really packed a punch

Ramp

Dowsing Dagger  Flip: Easy to flip because all your creatures have evasion.

Sword of the Animist: Gives you consistent ramp every turn.

Land Tax: While not technically ramp does a great job making sure you never miss your land drops and allows you to thin your deck of basic lands as the game goes on. I think Land Tax works well in a deck like this because of the large amount of basic lands you are running.

Card Draw

Mask of Memory: Since your creatures have evasion it is very easy to have it trigger each turn.

Conjurer's Mantle Same as Mask of Memory but also gives one of your Angels vigilance and +1/+1 which is more relevant than you would realize.

Horn of the Mark: What makes this card so unique is you get to draw a card for each opponent you attack with two creatures so you can draw up to 3 cards per turn.

Pyre of Heroes: While technically not card draw does allow you to "trade up" your weakest angel for another angel from your deck with one higher CMC

Protection

Together Forever: I can't express how strong this card has been in my deck. Since Giada is putting +1/+1 counters on your angels you can pull all your angels back to your hand in the event of a board wipe.

Win Conditions

Aetherflux Reservoir: Works well with your lifegain effects in your deck and allows you another outlet to utilize all the life you are gaining.

Angels to Consider

Wojek Investigator, Angel of Jubilation, Angelic Field Marshal, Firemane Commando, Serra Paragon, Thraben Watcher, Metropolis Reformer, Angel of Vitality, Serra Avenger, Segovian Angel, and Sephara, Sky's Blade. Most of those angels will help to lower your curve and allow you to play your angels faster.

Angels I Would Remove

Akroma, Angel of Wrath: Unless she is in there for flavor she cost way too much for what she brings to the table. Consider replacing her with Sephara, Sky's Blade.

Angel of the Dire Hour: Requires you to hold up to much mana, run an extra board wipe instead.

Angel of the Ruins: Same as above, she cost too much for the effect she brings.

Angelic Arbiter: I would only run her if you were going to double down on stax otherwise I think she is over costed.

Other Cards I Would Remove

Parhelion II: Cool card but to high of a CMC for the payoff.

Quicksilver Amulet: 8 mana to play and cheat out a creature seems like a lot. I think if you end up lowering your CMC of your deck this card will become worse.

Return to Dust: I would replace with Heliod's Intervention roughly gives you the same effect but will let you kill additional enchantments or artifacts if necessary, plus the lifegain can be helpful in your deck since you have a lot of lifegain payoffs.

TheOfficialCreator I have been using a third Giada, Font of Hope and it's worth it but I removed a Solitude instead. I think the deck needs one "bomb" card that I can place that can either help with my gameplan or be an immediate threat. Without a "bomb" sometimes the deck suffers if you lack any synergy on the table.

What do you think could be a good threat instead of Serra Paragon? Perhaps Sigarda, Font of Blessings since it protects and can help get around card draw?

I've also been thinking of splashing other colours to access changeling cards such as Unsettled Mariner.

I think a third Giada, Font of Hope could probably do a little better than the one Serra Paragon. I get not wanting to have too many of the same legend, but with Giada it actually works in your favor since any duplicates will just be stronger because the original will boost the P/T of the new one. If you play the duplicate on your second main you actually get to have a big blocker that turn cycle too.

I've found that Secluded Steppe's cycle of lands helps me in Modern decks that are a bit slow.

While I understand Wrath of the Skies's synergies with your deck, I think it honestly will disproportionately hurt you because you know you're low to the ground. Skywrath won't be able to take out a Murktide Regent, Wurmcoil Engine, or a Draco. A regular Wrath would be more effective as a sideboard option, I think. (Could also run some recursion in the sideboard to go along with it, though I'm not sure if TOR would just balance that out as a result of drawing a bunch of cards anyway).

Anatak thank you for your comment! I'm glad you've been inspired to make your own Angel deck!

As for Traveler's Amulet, I like it as we can tutor for a basic and help to thin the deck. It isn't absolutely necessary, as you could probably get away with something like Extraplanar Lens if you really wanted to. Plus, it can be recurred with Serra Paragon so we can get more value out of it.

Angel of Indemnity

5W - Angel Warrior

Flying, lifelink

When Angel of Indemnity enters the battlefield, return target permanent card with mana value 4 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Encore 6WW

I like this card but not sure if it'll replace Karmic Guide for me. Costs 1 more than Guide and doesn't have an echo cost. It can hit all permanent types but only CMC 4 or less, so similar vein as Serra Paragon but you can do some blink shenanigans with it. The encore effect at 8CMC is only one more than Emeria Shepherd and can hit 3 targets if all opponents are still in play and gives you 15 attack power on board, much more if pumped with Giada.

When you drop Aurelia's Vindicator as a disguise you're paying 3 generic for a 2/2 non angel, non flying body. Then you flip it up for 4X to target X creatures. So at minimum you're paying 8 mana to disguise and flip to target 1 creature. If you're only looking for a stat line then sure it could beat Gisela, the Broken Blade  Meld but most people don't run it for the stats, they run it for the meld ability. The only real difference between the 2 is you're swapping first strike for ward 2. I've only melded Gisela twice and people see it coming a mile away so they use single target removal and prevent the meld from happening.

There have been quite a few 3 drop angels released in the past year so I've been pulling angels that are just bodies. I usually want them to have 1 extra ability. If you compare a 4 drop Aurelia to any of the following it pales in comparison due to the lack of extra abilities.

Archangel of Tithes

Battle Angels of Tyr

Firemane Commando

Linvala, Keeper of Silence

Serra Paragon

Angel of Jubilation

In the end it comes down to power level. My original list was close to this one and I won a ton of games when Giada was first released. Since then the store's power level has jumped several levels and you won't keep a board state past turn 5. Giada is also a lightning rod for cheap removal so you'll need some form of protection or be prepared to cast her for 8 mana. If you're still able to have good games with a basic angel aggro deck then that's great but if your pod begins the arms race then be prepared to be outclassed.

I agree that card draw is what makes this guy tick. I personally run 23 draw effects (iirc) while staying on theme. Btw, Faerie Mastermind isn't in your card draw section.

Mystic Remora: This one is meta dependent and is a nice recursion target for Serra Paragon or Hall of Heliod's. Starscream, Power Hungry  Flip: this guy's damage from drawing cards while you're the monarch adds up. I also look at him as a 3 drop. Plumb the Forbidden: Instant speed and pseudo dodging counterspells makes this card. Typically used in response to boardwipes. Aerial Extortionist: Versatile removal and card draw on a flyer. This guy is annoying and its draw triggers from a lot of things like commanders, flashback, rebound, and play from exile effects etc.

Also, a few cards outside of draw engines that I've had good results out of. Divine Visitation: makes any future 1/1 tokens into real threats. Nykthos Paragon: isn't a flyer, but he's an enchantment so he triggers Alela and Alela conveniently has lifelink built in so you can reliably gets the counters from his trigger. It gets out of hand quickly.
