THIS DECK IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED

I have reworked this deck into a new Temur version, which is a bit less aggressive but more interesting imo.

Here is the link to the new version: Dragons of the Maelstrom

Sarkhan gazed on the world around him, the dragons sweeping through its skies, and joy kindled like a fire in his soul.

Deck Description

Hello, I am Sheld and this is my Gruul dragon tribal deck led by Xenagos . It's my second commander deck. Similarly to my first deck, it is supposed to be fun to play casually with friends rather than being as powerful as possible (aiming at 75%).

It may seem strange to not have Atarka as your commander in this deck but Xenagos is a better choice here imo.

The advantages of Atarka are the huge potential to one-hit opponents with commander damage and that with her you always have access to a buff for your whole board.

Xenagos buffs only one creature each combat but he also provides haste for your dragons and that makes the deck much faster and more consistent. In addition to that, Xenagos is indestructible and often isn't even a creature so he is very hard to get rid off.

That being said, the deck is perfectly playable with Atarka as its commander. I would just recommend to add more haste cards and remove Berserkers' Onslaught if you want her to lead the deck.

Give the deck +1 if you like it and and let me know what you think about it. Any comments and suggestions are much appreciated. :)

Deck Strategy

This is a simple midrange deck with all the usual stuff (ramp, enhancers, creatures, removal etc.). In addition to that, there are some dragon-tribal cards (e.g. Dragon Tempest ) and a lot of buffs as they work well with Xenagos , with big Dragons and with each other in general.

The main power of this deck lies in its speed and potential to deal huge damage unexpectedly. This is achieved mainly by giving your creatures haste and doubling their damage in a variety of ways:

The important thing is that all these damage-doubling effects multiply so the more you have the stronger they are!

It is also worth noting that extra combat steps are significantly better than other buffs as they give you an extra Xenagos trigger.
