A Volrath deck designed to use his ability to copy creatures with evasion, then before damage copy creatures with good on-hit abilities. This deck does not run any infect, which is likely very good with Volrath, but just does not interest me personally.

For evasion we have cards such as Slither Blade and Dimir Infiltrator , or creatures with abilities such as AEtherling and Thornling . We are also running Rogue's Passage and Whispersilk Cloak to help get our commander past any blockers. Since we have some unblockable creatures anyways, we can gain some value out of cards such as Oran Frostfang and Fallen Shinobi .

Once the way is clear, we can turn Volrath into fun creatures such as Dreamstealer , Mindleech Mass , Cephalid Constable , and Cold-Eyed Selkie . Thunderfoot Baloth can put a lot of power on the board when copied, and Artisan of Kozliek can give Volrath annihilator when declaring attackers.

To clone these creatures we will need counters (any kind will do), so we have cards such as Unspeakable Symbol , Hadana's Climb  , Simic Ascendancy (also a potential alt-win con), Master Biomancer , Forgotten Ancient , and Tetzimoc, Primal Death .

Since Volrath gives -1/-1 counters himself, we are running some good synergy cards that can close out the game themselves once the engine is assembled. These include Nest of Scarabs , Blowfly Infestation , Obelisk Spider , Hepatra, Vizier of Poisons, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician . Willbreaker also works very well with our commander adding counters.

Finally, we have a clone sub-package to both get Volrath more good targets as well as potentially clone a bomb if we need a little bit of help closing the game out. Plus, Villainous Wealth , because why play Sultai without it?
