Hello there, UW fellow lawyer! This is my first and most loved deck I’ve ever built! I’m here to show you my dear Brago, King Eternal stax deck that has introduced me to this beautiful format!

This deck is very dependent on its commander, so mana ramp is very important to land an early Brago. For this purpose we are playing a great bunch of mana rocks to cast Brago, King Eternal on turn 2/3. Please, avoid all 3 CMC rocks (except Basalt Monolith , of course). 2 CMC is much better!

When Brago is finally in play, you have access to all kind of flickering shaeningans you need! Brago can blink your ETB effects to slow down, lock or just outvalue your opponents. You can blink all of your mana rocks to get more mana to interact in opponents’ turn or just play your stax effect. Brago allows you to break the simmetry of stax like Winter Orb and Static Orb , preventing everyone but you to play Magic! Planeswalkers are very good to blink too: you can get 2 activations per turn with Brago out, resetting loyalty counters everytime!

This deck has three win conditions, which can be reached thanks to his Azorius shell, full of counterspell, tax effects, tutors and white exiling removal.

1)Stax: a combination of stax cards like Static Orb / Winter Orb and Tangle Wire (with Brago out) can basically lock down the entire table to your oppressive power! Stasis and one rock that can produce colored mana ( Azorius Signet , Talisman of Progress , Prismatic Lens ) to flicker is effective too!

2)Strionic resonator combo: you need at least 2 mana from a random amount of mana rocks, something good to flicker and, of course, Strionic Resonator . When Brago’s trigger is on the stack, you copy it tapping something like Sol Ring and the resonator for 2 generic mana. Now you can blink your mana rocks and your strionic resonator, which enter the battlefield untapped. So you can activate it another time, targeting the original Brago trigger! Repeat this process to infinitely blink a card like Reality Acid to destroy all of your opponents’ permanents, or draw your whole deck thanks to Wall of Omens or Sea Gate Oracle . When you draw into Venser, Shaper Savant you can flash it into play to bounce all permanents controlled by your opponents!

3) Rest in Peace + Helm of Obedience combo: this combo doesn’t need to have Brago in play! No more than an unfair alternative wincon: this can steal games out of nowhere!

Recommended cards: Armageddon can knock out from the game a lot of decks. You are playing a bunch of mana rocks: who cares about lands? Teferi's Protection is fun to play in response to your own Armageddon. Ghost Quarter and Strip Mine are not just great utility lands, but help you to get rid of Maze of Ith !! Tezzeret the Seeker is probably the best card in the whole deck: he can tutor for all of your wincon. You can play him in main 1, tutor for an Orb, blink him with Brago and tutor again for Tangle Wire. One card lock down! I’m wondering to add Rings of Brighthearth and Sensei's Divining Top to the mix for a more powerful win line with Tezzeret. You -3 Tezzy for the Rings, blink him with Brago, then -3 again and copy the ability with Rings to get Basalt Monolith and Sensei's Divining Top . Now that you have infinite colorless mana with Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth you can activate Top to draw a card, copy that ability with Rings, draw a card and then draw the Top for the resolution of the second draw on the stack. Recast Sensei's Divining Top and repeat the process to draw until you are satisfied. Now with infinite colorless mana you can play all of your rocks and stax pieces and prepare the next turn for the win!!
