Intro

This is a RW vehicle/equipment/dwarf themed EDH commander deck, that I am in the progress of making. The deck could be played in casual commander games and still might have a slight chance in some lower level competitive games. The deck looks to dominate the board mainly by surviving board wipes with our equipment and vehicles. The deck then quickly recovers and dominates by the power of dwarves crewing these vehicles, decent amount of removal, solid draw, trading combat damage in our favor or just ramming it all in our enemies faces when they're unable to keep up. The deck is set up with quite a low mana curve and the amount of lands is therefore kept at a minimum (38 Lands on current main board setup). A few mana rocks and some deck manipulation are included to make up for this.

I decided to start building this deck after a Kaladesh & Aether Revolt draft that we played with my mtg buddies. I drafted some nice vehicles, a Veteran motorist, gearshift ace and an instant card called Incendiary Sabotage. I even ended up winning the draft. I thought that these cards could combine great with a couple cards I already had. An artifact theme seemed like a fun way to go ( Artifacts = 1/3rd of the deck).

The key cards to get the deck rolling

Depala was selected as a commander and it determined the colors of the deck. Depala brings solid card draw to the deck on its own. It is sure dependant on if the top of the deck has enough vehicles and dwarves. Anyways with the card Scroll Rack Her draw ability becomes insane. With Depala and Scroll Rack on the battlefield. Tap depala and pay for (X), draw all the dwarves and vehicles. Then play Scroll Racks ability, dump all vehicles and dwarves back on top of the library and draw other bomb cards that you need in return. This way with Depala you ensure another massive draw next turn. This way we get card advantage and get to choose what to keep in hand -> good plays. Making all this happen sure depends on if we get lucky enough to draw Scroll Rack or one of our tutors to get it. As an example the cards: Gamble, +Sunforger+Enlightened Tutor or just Enlighted Tutor: We also need some free mana to pull these off.And ofc then we have the problem of keeping Scroll Rack alive on the board. But as MC Depalas 1%'rs we like to live the outlaw life and we are always packing some protection! (As an confession, adding Scroll Rack was not an idea of my own. I copied the idea from someones comment on a forum of Depala as an EDH commander.) And for the rest of the key cards of the deck. Board sweeping and surviving them is all pretty much basic stuff. Save some creature cards in hand, cast a wrath effect when it is safe, watch your opponents regret that they overextended, cast some creatures and keep crewing + equipping and attacking. Pure advantage there. Some of the other allstar synergy cards of this deck are:Death or Glory, Mageta the Lion, Combustible Gearhulk and Pia's Revolution

Recovery

If the brown stuff does hit the fan and Scroll Rack or another important piece of ours gets removed, we luckily have some guys to help us recover and get them back running. As an example Restoration Specialist, Goblin Welder or Junk Diver

Protection

Enchantments and artifacts: can be removed by Nahiri, the Harbinger, Goblin Welder, Duergar Hedge-Mage or Orim's Thunder

Creatures: In addition to the spells, we have Nahiri and the sweatshop goblin. Walking Ballista, or the money wise cheaper Triskelion are bad ass protection. They are also great at crewing Vehicles, since we want to keep them alive and out of direct combat.

Land threats: Magus of the Moon is good here. Since it is not the kind of creature you want to go balls deep attacking with. It is more of a hate bear, a pain in the buthole for our opponents and we can just rather keep him as a pilot for the vehicles. Also one dwarf has an land removal ability too and then we got the sweeper spell for all lands Catastrophe.

In addition to some of the basic removal, burn and board sweeps, we have:Shunt and Wild Ricochet- That can be used to change the target of a counterspell in order to deny one. !Sunforger Is our 9mm personal protection, that can be used in order to fetch these deny counters. Other fetches can make our creatures indestructible, removal of a single permanent, 3 damage to all creatures (the mini sweep), tutoring for an artifact or something else all at instant speed. I really enjoy playing the Sunforger. Responsive gaming is more fun.

Mana ramp

Not much to say here on the color side. RW is just not on its strongest, so going mostly with artifact solutions (mana rocks). The mana rocks bring in another nice aspect. How about blowing up all lands? Yeah, why not. We are playing an aggroish deck and we choose when to blow the lands up. So plan it right with a Catastrophe for an alternative win con.

Metalworker, loves vehicles bounced by Depala

Cultivator's Caravan, vehicle with integrated mana

Blinkmoth Urn, tap it ocationally with Karn, Silver Golem or Freejam Regent to deny opponents from benefiting from its buff.

Foriysian Totem, one of our mana stones that becomes a creature if there aren't any around

Neheb, the Eternal for some extra mana after a nice brawl

The wraths

Shield of Kaldra

Pia's Revolution

Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer

Aethergeode Miner, and a few others are just great cards on the board when we use one of our wrath effects like Wrath of God

Thank you for reading

So thanks for reading fellow magicians! Hope you liked this deck style of Depala-vehicles. This is also my first deck that i am posting here so any tips concerning the deck build or the way I posted it up here are welcome :-)
