December 2023 - Recently updated with my current decklist.

This deck is completely built as is. It's a continual work in progress though so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I've used custom sort categories to organize cards by the roles they fill in the deck - for instance you'll find Rune-Scarred Demon in the tutors section rather than with the other Angels, Demons and Dragons (ADDs). I should probably apologize for the puns but I'm not actually sorry.

In general, I've prioritized cards that bring a lot to the table on their own or synergize well with multiple other cards over ones that require specific scenarios/combos to go off. Most of my ADDs have been chosen with ETB effects in mind so that I can get quick and reliable returns when cheating them in with Kaalia.

Specific Cards/Interactions - Section Under Construction

Imperial Recruiter

Imperial Recruiter tutors for creatures with power 2 or less. Valid targets are: Master of Cruelties, Karmic Guide, Esper Sentinel, Dockside Extortionist, Grand Abolisher, Mother of Runes, Priest of Fell Rites, and Anger.

Entomb

Entomb + Anger - Pretty straightforward play here, gets Anger straight in to the graveyard where it does it's best work. With Entomb's low mana cost I could potentially also use it to grab a target for one of my reanimation effects in a pinch.

Cavern of Souls

I almost always choose Human for Cavern of Souls. In addition to protecting Kaalia, it also covers Esper Sentinel, Imperial Recruiter, Grand Abolisher, Kaalia, Zenith Seeker, Priest of Fell Rites and Mother of Runes.
