I finally got the deck updated, to what I feel is the best it can be for me and my playgroup at the moment. I'm happy with the way its all turned out but I am still open to suggestions.
Also a quick note on the land base, I realise that I am doubling the cost of the deck with these cards. However i wanted to test play this style of land base. I feel that it is critical in helping to thin my deck (with all the search ramp and fetches) and it is fairly immune from non-basic hate as most of it is basic. What's really great is i can use land tax and my other search cards to pull all the basics, and sometimes the shocks and duals out of my deck. That way I top deck a playable card late game instead of a basic land. I obviously don't have the cash for these but I thought they make for a very efficient land base. If you think it can be made better let me know.
Mostly I want this deck to be fun to play, I'm not looking to crush anybody, but doing some crazy things to everyone is what makes EDH so enjoyable, (playing every basic land in the deck in one turn, or being able to draw your whole deck, and sometimes play your whole deck). If you have any ideas that would make the deck more like that let me know. I kinda live for the degenerate combos in the deck.
Fun stuff:
Melira, Sylvok Outcast+Kitchen Finks/Woodfall Primus =infinite sacrifices and either infinite life or destroy everything but creatures, add in Dictate of Erebos and you have a very empty playing field. With blasting station you win.
Ghave, Guru of Spores+ Ashnod's Altar+ Juniper Order Ranger/Sigil Captain/ivy lane dezien= lots of saprolings and infinite colourless mana. with Doubling Season or Parallel Lives this gets crazy.
The biggest thing is getting Ghave + a way to make +1/+1s and someway to get more mana than you should have. This will lead to you making infinite saprolings. the state at which they come in, like power/ toughness or if they're tapped or not depends on how you got them all there. sometimes depending on things everything becomes huge, ( I had an infinite/infinite Ghave one game) other time maybe not.
Sometimes you can make infinite mana in the deck, usually through having access to infinite sacrifices. There are a few ways to do that, like Melira, Sylvok Outcast, a persist creature and Ashnod's Altar/Phyrexian Altar. With some draw you can usually find a game winner, or make a game winner.
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion is a win. People get mad, sometimes I get mad but it works when you're getting steamrolled by krenko's gross goblin army.
If you see Tooth and Nail in your hand and you have a way to float 9 mana you also win, just grab the above mentioned combo. If you're feeling adventurous or want to do something unexpected there are many other terrible things to do just for fun, a personal favorite being to devour a bunch of guys with Mycoloth and Doubling Season/Parallel Lives/Corpsejack Menace. Give him swift foot boots for good measure and we've got ourselves a fun way to make crap tons of people that is relatively untouchable.
Another interesting thing about Ghave is that he can make certain enchantments into pseudo replacements for some instants and sorceries. Attrition, Perilous Forays, and Aura Shards to name a few. They replace Doom Blade, Rampant Growth, and Naturalize. They also stack, which is pretty cool if you ask me.
There are way too many combos to list here. I've been slowly discovering them myself. If you see one let me know, I probably don't know about it and I'll try and add it up here.
Also, anyone that runs Ghave and is looking for cool stuff should check out the Legion Supplies website. They have sleeves called "something wicked this way comes" the art looks just like Ghave, and its pretty cool. I picked up some and they look awesome.
