I've always had a thing for Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and I was looking for a practical application for Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Rage Reflection , and poof! It occurred to me to make this happen.

My idea is quite simple I suppose: raze the battlefield. I want to maximize the use I get out of Gisela's ability, aiming for an explosive finish. If possible, I want to avoid having too many combo-to-win scenarios because I find it gets tiresome to have the game just end unceremoniously. So, I guess that means that I'm not looking for competitive, per se, just very functional.

I'd love to get any tips or suggestions, after all, I'm sure I've missed some great avenues of action. And, to be honest, I (almost) never play a red or white central deck, so I don't know many of the red/white goodies. Oh, and I'm trying to avoid having more than 5 creatures in the deck.

I should mention, though, that I'd like too avoid anything too expensive as money is tight. So that means no Mana Crypt , no $40+ cards, you get the idea.

The Essence of Burn in Commander:

To me, burn is a form of control. In EDH, if played right, it should be a very effective resource denial method. Unlike most removal, you absolutely want to get the dorks because that will give you time to build up the means to kill their bigger things. Playing burn is very much a spontaneous thing. If you're hesitant, you'll be outpaced, and if you mistime the burning then you won't have the means to protect yourself. Burn, to me, is the most amusing way to play EDH.

I've been playing this deck for a a while, now, and I've found that for this deck to be it's best, I absolutely need to always be burning. I don't have much draw, this being Boros, and I don't have much ramp, but I do have Gisela, Blade of Goldnight to beef things up. To be honest, if it weren't for how incredibly powerful she is, I'd have long since abandoned this deck. I love playing burn, but it's hard when the opponent's creatures rapidly exceed most burn cards. I"m currently making a shift towards being nearly creature-less; I'm keeping only a select few like Heartless Hidetsugu and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. Also, I'm going to try and increase the scope of the damage I inflict. I think that since everyone hates being burnt anyways, I'll add Burning Sands to stave off the aggro. I hope to be able to avoid turns where I can't defend myself.
