Arcade Primer: Winning With Walls

Introduction

Arcades is the one of the more interesting Elder Dragons revealed in M19. He makes ever single wall become a cantrip and allows walls to deal damage using their toughness instead of their power. Considering how under costed walls are, these are some very strong synergies. While Arcades can be built in a variety of different ways, he lends himself to a storm strategy. The deck works with a number of different pieces, and seeks to assemble them to steal the win. We're not necessarily dropping an obscene number of walls, in fact the deck can be pretty innocuous until it goes for the win. As a back up, it can always punch in the face until all your opponents are dead.

Infinite Combos:

We can perform a number of infinite combos to draw our deck, make infinite mana, or make infinite tokens. Afterward we can either win through attacking or use Doorkeeper to mill each of our opponents.

Combo One: If we have Axebane Guardian with at least one other wall and Freed From the Real, we have infinite mana.
Combo Two: Axebane Guardian or Overgrown Battlement with Staff of Dominion is Infinite Mana and infinite draw.
Combo Three: Kelp Wall with Earthcraft (or cryptolith rite with concordant crossroads) and raise the alarm is infinite mana and infinite tokens.
Combo 4: Cloudstone Curio with earthcraft, shield sphere, and any other one drop is infinite mana. You can then cast your commander and draw your entire deck.
Combo 5: Any infinite mana combo with our commander and Quicksilver Wall allows us to draw our entire deck.

Search.

We have a variety of tutors to get to our combo pieces.

Green Sun's Zenith can be used to search any of the mana doublers, ramp with Dryad Arbor, or get any utility walls.
Drift of Phantasms searches CLoudstone Curio, Quicksilver Wall, Staff of Domination, Axebane Guardian, Freed From the Real, or Intruder Alarm. if we need utility it can also search Aura Shards to destroy an enchantment or artifact. Enlightened tutor will mainly be used to search for raise the alarm and earthcraft. However, it can be used to grab whatever utility artifact or enchantment we may need. Remember to wait until you play a wall and retain priority to cast enlightened tutor. You'll add the card to your hand.

Conclusion

As the deck evolves and more people tinker with the Arcades, the deck is sure to change. This guide gives a rough guide on how to operate the deck, but it has a lot of different ways to reach its combo. if you don't like the combo win, you can always play more aggressively and turn your walls sideways to deal some massive damage. A couple of walls swinging each turn really adds up. if you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments. Thank you.
