Ayli needs snackrifices!! This deck is all about punishing your opponent for trying to play creatures, generating tokens, gaining life, punishing your opponent for your own life gain, and generating bigger, better tokens. How fun!

Ayli's ability to sacrifice creatures at a low cost (as well as her own low cmc) makes her a very fun and synergetic commander. The early-game focus is to get out mana and begin populating the field with tokens/creatures for some early game life gain. Getting more than 10 starting life isn't too hard, and is needed to use her second ability to rid the battlefield of pesky cards.

Lots of fun sac & stack synergies in here. Maybe board are ideas and eventual $ upgrades. Please feel free to add any suggestions or comments on what to add/remove or what works well and what doesn't!

Angelic Accord is stupid with Ayli.

Hell's Caretaker is an auto-include. It does stupid things with Thornbite Staff.

Kokusho, the Evening Star got banned as a commander for good reason.

Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant could be convenient.

Tutors are nice.

Make sure to have contingencies so I don't do something stupid to you... I do that a lot. Can you answer Sterling Grove, Asceticism, Aegis of the Gods, Glaring Spotlight, Rubinia Soulsinger, Barrin, Master Wizard, Meddling Mage naming Ayli, and Empyrial Archangel plus a flipped Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant?

If the answer is a boardwipe, can you get rid of my Dovescape, and stop me getting infinite doves from it with Guile?

I mean none of this offensively - I'm just providing suggestions without much time to do it personally, and exemplifying the kind of situations you might occasionally run into and need to shut down.

Hope it helps! Most of my suggestions come from playing against my friend's Ayli EDH deck and helping him improve it.

NotSquishedYet Thanks for the input, those are great suggestions! Angelic Accord is dirty here, and Hell's Caretaker + Thornbite Staff seem like it'll do great. Given there weren't lots of plains in my deck, I went and removed Emeria, The Sky Ruin, since those last 2 do a better job at achieving the same thing much earlier in the game, and much more often, and replaced it with Arcane Lighthouse as one way to deal with hexproof.

Nomad's + Daru seems pretty brutal. Good suggestion, I'll test it out and see how it goes!

I'm iffy on Edgewalker. While I do agree it was great art, I'm not sure I have enough clerics to justify running it. The one's I have are already low cmc, and I;ve usually never run into any mana block putting them out early or mid game. If I end up going with more clerics over time I'll definitely bump that up on the list!
