I Can Has Rock? (Ardenn/Toggo EDH)

Commander / EDH* Artifact RW (Boros)

Ardenn caught my eye pretty quickly, as did Toggo. Weirdly, I didn't put the two of them together until I saw Puresteel Paladin. This led to a partner deck of equip proportions! Ardenn is my primary partner, so the goal is to spread or consolidate my equipment every turn onto the creature that benefits from it the most. Rocks serve as added boosts, not for the ability to throw them, but as additional buffs for Heavenly Blademaster, Wyleth, Soul of Steel, Akiri, Fearless Voyager or whoever has All That Glitters. Landfall is a subtheme, capitalizing on Toggo's ability but also providing benefits via Felidar Retreat and Retreat to Emeria.

The deck will play pretty simply. Get Toggo out, build up rocks. Get good creatures in play, get out Ardenn, start nonsense. Extra combat phases are necessary for this deck to win as opponents can not expect the same combat phase twice. I achieve this with Aurelia, the Warleader, Moraug, Fury of Akoum, or Savage Beating on Spellbinder. Then I either go for the kill in a go tall attack with a creature (if unable to block, a commander), or a go wide strategy with Heavenly Blademaster buffing the whole team.
