An Elemental deck build on a budget

Like I said: Forget about Omnath and forget about Landfall-triggers. This deck is build around the Commander Horde of Notions and its Companion Jegantha, the Wellspring and Elemental-triggers. You will start the game with two combo pieces available. The Commander and the Companion.

So I made an Elemental Tribal Deck build around a three combos which generate infinite casting and dying of Elementals. This is a budget/fun brew and can easily be upgraded by changing the mana base, adding a better tutor package or play better removal and so on.

Because of budget restrictions in this deck only low-priced tutors for the combo parts. Further a budget mana base with a lot of basic land tutors to get all your colors and a filter the deck for a better draw. If you can combine all the elements you should be able to end the game with some infinite Elemental trickery.

Elementry Golem combo.

This combo uses 3 elements to maken an infinite loop of casting (ETB) and sacrificing (LTB) Elemental creatures. For the three card Golem combo these are:

So with these 3 elements the deck can make an infinite loop of ETB/LTB creatures. This is not game winning, but I will get to that later. There are plenty cards to combine and make it deadly.

Example of this combo

  1. Have Arcane Adaptation + Composite Golem + Horde of Notions or Ashes of the Fallen + Composite Golem + Horde of Notions in play
  2. Sacrifice Composite Golem to add to your mana pool.
  3. Arcane Adaptation or Ashes of the Fallen makes Composite Golem an Elemental in the graveyard.
  4. Pay to use Horde of Notions to cast Composite Golem from the graveyard.
  5. Rinse and Repeat.

Add Chakram Retriever and a mana dork or Faces of the Past and an Elemental mana dork as a 4th and a 5th element to this combo to make infinite mana.

Elementry Haste combo

This combo uses 4 elements to maken an infinite loop of casting (ETB) and sacrificing (LTB) Elemental creatures. For the four card Haste combo these are:

So with these 4 elements the deck can make an infinite loop of ETB/LTB creatures. This is not game winning, but I will get to that later. There are plenty cards to combine and make it deadly.

Example of this combo

  1. Have Horde of Notions + Jegantha, the Wellspring an haste enabler like Rhythm of the Wild and a sac outlet like Seething Pathblazer in play
  2. Tap Jegantha, the Wellspring to add to your mana pool.
  3. Sacrifice Jegantha, the Wellspring to Seething Pathblazer
  4. Pay to use Horde of Notions to cast Jegantha, the Wellspring from the graveyard.
  5. Because of the haste from Rhythm of the Wild you can tap Jegantha, the Wellspring again
  6. Rinse and repeat

Replace Horde of Notions + Jegantha, the Wellspring with Faeburrow Elder + Horde of Notions when adding Arcane Adaptation or Ashes of the Fallen as a fifth element.

Add Chakram Retriever and a mana dork or Faces of the Past and an Elemental mana dork as a 4th and a 5th element to this combo to make infinite mana.

Elementry Untap combo

This combo uses 5 elements to maken an infinite loop of casting (ETB) and sacrificing (LTB) Elemental creatures. For the five card Untap combo these are:

So with these 5 elements the deck can make an infinite loop of ETB/LTB creatures. With the proper Elemental creature added to this combo it can be game winning. I will get to that later.

Example of this combo

  1. Have Chakram Retriever + Horde of Notions + Jegantha, the Wellspring or Chakram Retriever + Faeburrow Elder + Horde of Notions in play
  2. Have an Elemental like Risen Reef and a sac outlet like Dimir House Guard in play
  3. Sacrifice Risen Reef
  4. Tap Jegantha, the Wellspring or Faeburrow Elder to add to your mana pool.
  5. Pay to use Horde of Notions ability.
  6. Cast Risen Reef from the graveyard
  7. The ETB effect of Risen Reef triggers Chakram Retriever which untaps Jegantha, the Wellspring or Faeburrow Elder
  8. Rinse and repeat

In this example Risen Reef is the Elemental Creature in the loop. In this way you can drop all your lands and draw your entire deck. Faces of the Past only works with the 'dork' with Arcane Adaptation in play. Catalyst Elemental is a two-for-one sac. fodder and an Elemental creature. Saving an element and giving infinite

Why no sac. outlets like Goblin Bombardment in this deck? Because I wanted to build it in a jank style and prefer to finish the game with the Elementals. These cards trigger on the infinite casting, ETB, dying and LTB triggers.

Cards that get fueled by all three combos

If these Elementals are taken as the Elemental part of the Five Elements Untap Combo. Get these Elementals in and out of the graveyard to abuse their effect in an infinite loop.

Sacrifice / Cast from graveyard for the five card combo
