Archangel Avacyn is a unique Boros commander that allows you to give all of your creatures indestructible at instant speed, in order to survive removal spells and board wipes. This threat just existing will cause players at the table to often not target your stuff, because it would be pointless after an Avacyn trigger. If your opponents boards are getting scary, you can pull off a board wipe of your own by flipping over Avacyn, by sacrificing a creature. This strategy creates a nice control deck that can win by either killing someone via commander damage, or just beating your opponents down with cards like Insurrection.
