This deck is all about making tokens and then making them powerful when they attack. I've seen a lot of other red/white EDH decks that focus on equipment but I don't see the point in spending all that mana on a single creature that could just be killed with Doom Blade .

That's just my opinion and personal preference though. So I'm all about making soldier tokens as fast as possible and making them stupid. If I can't ramp fast enough my plan is to use white to wipe the board or shut people down.
