Whenever you cast a spell, you may discard your hand. If you do, draw a card for each of that spell's colours.

When this dies (is put into the graveyard from the battlefield), this deals X damage to target creature, player or planeswalker, where X is the number of colours among permanents you control.

so i have multiple cards that provide treasure and then a lot of colorless providing mana to essentially get rid of zero cost things, i had issues with opponents having too many treasures with cards like smothering tithe. thunderbreak regent use to be in but a mere 3 damage because they want to spot remove is not game changing, I would say skyline despot is debatable, it is even on my honorable mentions, and shoot if it didn't need 2 red specifically i probably would run it. the worst thing that can happen is my opening hand has 3 or 4 fat costing dragons in hand and a turn 1-3 skyline despot that could totally be removed, comes in slow, yeah i chose against it. So Moonveil Regent is cheeky because the deck basicly functions to burn through the hand, and multiple cards exile the top to find the next mana producing cards and hopefully just keep secret storming off into multiple options. I win a lot of games with this recipe.

I would also get rid of Moonveil Regent because it's only a really good card if you're running a multi-color deck.

First off, if you are going for a more midrange-control type deck where you control the board before slamming down big haymakers, cards like Dragonlord's Servant and other ramp spells that aim to turbo out dragons faster don't actually fit well with the deck. I would cut all 3 copies and replace with more interaction.

Moonveil Regent is a dragon I really like, since it generates a ton of card advantage once you're in top decking mode (which most midrange decks aim to get to). Could maybe slot in 2.

You could potentially cut a land and go down to 22, if you need to. I also think that you should run fetches if you can afford them, along with a few utility lands.

Draconic Roar is cute and fits with the dragon theme, unfortunately it is strictly worse than Lightning Bolt in 99% of situations. I would go 4 Bolts.

I would also diversify your removal suite a bit. Unless artifacts are a huge problem in your meta, you could trim 1 K-Command and 1 Bloodchief's Thirst for 2 Terminates which is a good catch-all answer for bigger creatures (ahem murktide).

Inquisition of Kozilek if you need more discard spells.

For the sideboard, Hidetsugu Consumes All  Flip is a really strong card against a lot of decks, completely blowing out hammer and rhinos while also being strong against murktide, burn, random urza's saga decks, and even the occasional bogles deck.

Blood Moon is always an option in these kinds of decks, maindeck or sideboard.

Brotherhood's End is another sideboard boardwipe against artifact decks and aggro decks, much faster than Crux of Fate since you can sometimes lose before getting to 5 lands.

Thanks, I'll definitely take those suggestions into account! I look forward to playing this deck, hopefully I won't be taken out of the game first when I find a pod to play in and can make friends with other players at the LGS and play EDH on a regular basis. I'll look into some more shock lands and triomes with basic land types like Ziatora's Proving Ground and Ketria Triome and find copies of Nature's Lore and Three Visits. Replacing some more non-creature cards to add in other dragons also sounds like a good plan. After seeing it in Arena I was considering Moonveil Regent for some extra card draw but I could see adding Rishkar's Expertise as well. I'd like to have closer to 30-33 creatures and have more creature spells than non-creature spells so I'm almost there. Thanks again for the help, I didn't even know about a majority of the cards you suggested and I can see why they get so much play in EDH!

I would suggest use Bootleggers' Stash with Beledros Witherbloom to make some good interactions. Even Atsushi, the Blazing Sky maybe switch with Moonveil Regent, because 3CMC with flying, trample, 4/4 it's a fair creature, and create 3 treasures can be used with the reanimation part of deck. Goldspan Dragon can power up even more this strategies, and we have access to Old Gnawbone. It's just a idea to improve more treasures and reanimators sides of the deck.

Kazierts on Niv-Mizzet Reborn Dragons tribal

Since you're using Niv and have 24 lands, you could run 4 copies of Growth Spiral rather than one of the Talismans.

Bard Class could be a spicy one-of as a lot of dragons have in their costs. I'm suggesting a single copy because Niv can find it easily.

I know this is a huge strech, but Kalain, Reclusive Painter could also be ramp that's also able to be found with Niv.

Lastly, have you considered Neoform? Since you don't have ways to blink/flicker Niv, you could sacrifice him to find another dragon or even sacrifice a Moonveil Regent to find a Niv (or any other 5 drop) and deal damage to something.
