To me this reads a lot more like a "I scale my removal to affect all opponents" even though it obviously works like a mostly symmetrical Martyr's Bond whenever an opponent otherwise loses a nonland permanent.

Just a minor thing but maybe it should say "Whenever a nonland permanent an opponent controls is put into the graveyard from the battlefield..." to follow the same wording as Kothophed, Soul Hoarder? It's not strictly needed as permanents only exists on the battlefield - whereas they would otherwise be referred to as permanent cards for all other zones.

Thanks for a bit of feedback Dangerwillrobinson79! When I started out this deck I considered putting in Waste Not and Urza's Incubator but decided not to. Also I noticed Consuming Aberration in your deck which was another card I was considering putting in because of how big I might make it and it combos with Undead Alchemist. Another thing I considered as an alternate win condition was Liliana's Contract since there were some other demons I was considering putting in to generate even more value like Indulgent Tormentor, Reaper from the Abyss, or Kothophed, Soul Hoarder to name a few that I think might work well in this deck. Also Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath is more of a maybe card since I don't know if I want to keep it in or not.

: ) Thank you for being the best and most human random card generator program!! I've played a lot of magic but somehow managed never to have seen that card before now. lol I love modal cards and that is a sick one. Prolly makes it in the top 10 honorable mentions that narrowly miss the cut.

If you were to remove the KCI package and go more dedicated demons, it makes it in. This deck would love a bit more card draw or threat production.

I have Kothophed, Soul Hoarder at 101. Leaves you vulnerable to just dying to it if things get real though, which is why he's not in the deck.

Cutting anything is gonna be super difficult at this point too. I could maybe be talked out of Ensnaring Bridge depending on my mood, after that we're having an almost impossible time arriving at another card to cut.

Not sure what happens when a new Demon that's good enough to rumble with the Rakdos crew gets printed.

This looks like a pretty solid deck, I built a Mazirek deck and so far I think it's my strongest. There are a few things Your deck didn't have that mine does, but your deck seems to be built for the long game, while mine is built to have one explosive turn and pretty much win then and there.

This commander loves to sacrifice things, but he shouldn't be the only one in this deck. Effects like Zulaport Cutthroat are very powerful in aristocrat style decks, and Moldervine Reclamation can be good for drawing.

One of my favorite sacrifice outlets that I didn't see on your board was Altar of Dementia which lets you mill your opponents potentially out of the game, and provides you with a free place to sacrifice your vast army! And if any of your opponents like to use a lot of graveyard recursion, throw in a Tormod's Crypt for a free sacrifice trigger and some graveyard hate. There's also Priest of Forgotten Gods which forces opponents to sacrifice, lets you draw and gives you mana!

If you want to go down the path of forcing opponents to sacrifice their creatures, effects like Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos are fantastic. If you want something that can attack, Butcher of Malakir will be your new best friend. another card that can easily shrink an opponent's army is Archfiend of Depravity . If you do go down this path, throwing in things like Kothophed, Soul Hoarder will let you draw tons of cards off of opponents sacrifices.

If you're consistently having trouble finding creatures that generate tokens, I'd suggest throwing in a Fiend Artisan who has a sacrifice and tutor effect in one. If you're running some recursion, Jarad's Orders is a fantastic way to grab the creatures you need.

Well now you've sacrificed a bunch of things and your creatures are huge but you have nothing to do with them, so what now? One of the simplest ways to win is by using Rogue's Passage or something similar to make your commander unblockable and swing for lethal damage. If you want to stay on theme, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord lets you drain your opponents fo ra ton of health with your creatures for a fairly small amount of mana as well.

If you want any infinite combos, throw in any creature with persist along with a free sac outlet. Probably the one that would be the most devastating to your opponents would be Woodfall Primus , as it can even destroy lands. When you sacrifice a creature with persist, two abilities go onto the stack, Mazirek's counter ability and the Persist ability. Since they are both your effects, you can choose what order they happen in, and you can choose to have the creature reenter the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter, and then remove that counter, and then you can sacrifice it again to repeat the loop. Check with your playgroup before you use this, as some people don't like having infinite combos in their games.

I know that was a lot and I'm sorry, but this deck was super fun and I love talking about it!

Hi! Thank you for creating this deck, i was looking for some cool demon deck, but only what i found were just decks filled with some expensive demons. However this deck has interesting engine in it that can cheat out demons or bring them back again from graveyard, and i love it! I'm playing it often, and still enjoying it. I made some personal changes, because not every card was available to me or i just wanted different demons there. :)

From sorcery i just cut out Duress, because i didn't need it, and it created space for more demons. :)

So for creatures: i kept all small dudes spawning small creatures - basically your nice cheating engine is kept untouched. However i made changes to some demons. Here is my list of demons:

  • one more Abhorrent Overlord because this card is fantastic in this deck as it spawns small creatures to sacrifice or chump block. So overall i have 2 of them in deck.

  • i kept Eater of Hope

  • i kept Kothophed, Soul Hoarder

  • i added 2x Overseer of the Damned because it creates more small creatures and can destroy enemy threat each time u pull him out.

  • added 2x Archfiend of Spite cuz he can be awesome blocker and also you can cheat him from hand as a surprise for its madness cost when you discard him with Call the Bloodline

  • added 1x Harvester of Souls as another card draw engine, and potential blocker for enormous creatures.

  • added 1x Lord of the Void cuz he is just so damn strong and people freak out when i pull him on board. :D

  • as an experiment i added 1x Desecration Demon but eventually i decided to remove him because if opponent have a lot of creatures, sacrificing one of them is not good enough for you and you have nor attacker or blocker. I put there 1x Griselbrand instead, because this deck lacks lifegain a little bit. I wish i could put there Westvale Abbey  Flip to get Ormendahl, Profane Prince but this card is unavailable for me.

Having Liliana's Contract as an alternate win condition is great, because some decks like to get tons of life, so with that you can surpass it.

Overall this deck performed very well for me, it is also good against mill, because if he mills your demons into your graveyard, you just need to pull them on board, you don't want to draw them anyways. :D

Thanks betomindslav!!

I do have some changes, although I haven't gotten around to updating the list yet - I'll hopefully get to that later this evening.

I haven't yet had a chance to test Gravebreaker Lamia yet, but at first glance it looks perfect for this deck - a Goblin Electromancer in black, almost. The tutor-to-the-graveyard ability is almost just icing on the cake - there aren't a lot of specific cards we're looking for in the yard (although if we've got a reanimation spell ready, nabbing Kokusho or Gray Merchant could always be fun). In fact, I think I'd most likely end up grabbing Succumb to Temptation, Dark Bargain, or Moonlight Bargain most often, since kill spells are plentiful and card draw is a little tighter.

Kothophed, Soul Hoarder I'm a little less enthusiastic about. I don't think it's bad, per se, I would just rather have Harvester of Souls, most of the time. They cost the same mana (and are pretty close in price too). Kothophed has a bigger body, but Flying is a better offensive mechanic, and Deathtouch is better on defense, which is where I find I usually want to be. More importantly, I think it's dangerous to put ourselves in a position where an opponent with a sac outlet might kill us, given how much life black already tends to pay to draw cards. So I'd say run it as a second copy of Harvester of Souls, but definitely don't drop Harvester for Kothophed.

One other card I want to talk about quickly, that (again...) I haven't had the chance to actually try out but looks sweet is the new Liliana, Waker of the Dead. Her +1 doesn't hurt us as much as it will hurt our opponents, since most of our cards can be cast from the grave anyway, and her -3 could prove to be solid removal, given that our graveyard should always be fairly well stocked. And of course, should we protect her long enough, her ult is game winning. I'm going to give her a try and see how she does!

Hello! For starters I think your land count is a bit low for your average CMC. You should either add more lands or replace some spells with cheaper and more efficient ones. Vampire of the Dire Moon and Gifted Aetherborn are great cheap drops, giving you life and deterring attacks and blocks with deathtouch. Vampire Nighthawk has the same effect, with flying to boot. Exsanguinate might be easier to play than Debt to the Deathless. Another Wrath or the cheaper alternative Day of Judgment should also be easier to cast than Garruk's Wake. Diabolic Tutor is better than Razaketh's Rite.

If you wanna play a 6 CMC spell, how about Beacon of Immortality instead of Winged Shepherd? Even Sunblade Angel is better. Kothophed, Soul Hoarder might be fun as well.

For removal you can use Go for the Throat, Victim of Night, Fatal Push, Tragic Slip, etc. I think you have a lot of 1 of's and you could focus your strategy more with better cards and more copies of them. Still, this looks fun to play in multiplayer with friends
