Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist is really good at controlling combat while also presenting as a very minor threat to less experienced players. She's got enough in body to deter early game aggro, while not being big enough to be a board swinger late game and her low mana cost makes her a less than optimal target for spot removal.

Heavily doctored from the precon, this deck has the versatility of three 'modes' to play in: Offense, Defense, and Control.

Offense: Loading Mirri (or Blinkmoth Nexus ) with an assortment of equipment or enchantments are a pretty standard road to victory. A pumped Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist + Darksteel Sentinel attacking every turn is a difficult to deal with pressure machine. Properly stacking combat anthems like Pathbreaker Ibex are a decent finisher.

Defense: If mirri can't swing in, Glare of Subdual will allow you access to her defensive ability while also being able to tap down a few fatties. Ranging Raptors and Darksteel Myr are decent early game deterrents while you sit on the threat of a Constant Mists.

Control: You might have noticed the odd inclusion of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth in the land list. While a little difficult to put together, Urborg + Linvala, Keeper of Silence and Kormus Bell is effectively a win condition. Your opponents lands (which are now 1/1 creatures) cannot activate their mana abilities. If you're running behind you can use Glare of Subdual + Static Orb to lock down the board for as long as you need (and you can target the orb during an opponents end step to get your own untaps). Finally Roots of Life is pretty nice with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth out, especially considering the oracle text update.

The other pieces are varying pieces of combat tricks or value. Notable winners are Shield of the Oversoul + Novablast Wurm, Deftblade Elite + Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist, and of course the oppressive double barrel action of Moment's Peace + Constant Mists.
