Continuing saga of updating all my precons from 2011 on… on to 2013!

Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is a great commander for interaction. So many ways to take him. I was interested in mainly messing with opponents’ gameplan but not locking them down. Hylda of the Icy Crown is another key piece and can function as an alternate commander.

Gameplan

Tapping for opponents:

• Willbreaker allows us to take opponents creatures when we tap them
• Koma, Cosmos Serpent let’s us tap and shut down activated abilities of opponent’s permanents
• Nullmage Shepherd removes artifacts or enchantments by tapping our creatures
• Tradewind Rider let’s us return permanents to opponents’ hands (or our hands)
• Glare of Subdual and Opposition let’s us tap our creatures to tap opponents’ creatures or artifacts
• Dismiss into Dream let’s us tap opponent’s creatures to destroy them

Tapping for ourselves:

• Sharae of Numbing Depths, Verity Circle allows us to draw when we tap things
• Stonybrook Schoolmaster can generate a token every time we tap it
• Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Reconnaissance let us swing freely with our weenies so we can tap things with Derevi
• Seedborn MuseGC and Drumbellower let us untap our creatures each turn

There is other draw, protection and removal in the main decklist. A few other key interactions below:

• Mirror Entity is fun here. It can make our creatures all 1/1s if Tetsuko is out to make an unblockable weenie storm or to protect them all from a Retribution of the Meek or Dusk / Dawn. Or it can make all our tokens/creatures huge.
• Saryth, the Viper's Fang helps our attacking creatures get through. And can untap something we need at instant speed.
• Ghalta and Mavren can be a finisher depending what is on the board as can Eldrazi Monument
