Ramos, Story Teller ((The FIRST Saga Deck?!))

Commander / EDH* Enchant God

Ramos, Story-Teller: After the forging of the worlds, the Gods felt it too barren. Through their design, Ramos was brought into being, set to wander the planes, speaking myths and legends to life. The Gods, and their retinue, gather to witness the tales being spun to reality before them, and revel in their creations.

Update 11/23: Win-Con Explanations: I've put the win cons (as I see them) from the least powerful, to the most insta-win.

  1. Dance of the Manse: This card is actually really slippery. It can be used at nearly any stage of the game for value, but late game, it can absolutely steal the game. A slight $$$ upgrade would include a package for instant casting sorceries, making this even more effective.

  2. Door to Nothingness: It for surely sounds jankier than it is. We have plenty of recursion built in, it becomes pretty easy to snipe down an opponent (or 2!!) per turn.

  3. Lose All Your Friends: Just kidding, I hope, but I included one of the dirtiest (and cheeeeeeeap) combos in the history of magic. In my defense, the cards are PERFECTLY on theme for my Ramos, Story Teller flavor--- Enchanted Evening and Calming Verse. Generally what will happen is you play EE, making all PERMANENTS (lands too) into enchantments. Then everyone sits down, listens to one last Calming Verse from Ramos (just tap all your lands prior to casting ('float' the mana) and bye bye enemy boards! Typically land destro is frowned upon, but in my metas, this is just considered a game over combo, so we can scoop it up and play more games! (After thought: this combo is designed to be played in a specific order of spells: 1. Silence (or Conflux). 2. Conflux (or Silence). 3. Ramos Mana Ability. 4. Enchanted Evening. 5. Calming Verse (this way you can win on whatever turn you have 8 (or 9 if you silence before conflux) mana. Easy money!)

Not Win Cons, But Still Bombs: Here's some major plays that can really swing the game into your favor!

  1. Thief of Blood: The least on theme card in the deck, admittedly (it passed some cuts [for now] from a phase of the deck that included 10 "remove counter" cards as a way to abuse Sagas) I left it in entirely for the late game, giant threat move. The unique timing is what I love! Late game Dance of the Manse, returning most of the sagas you own to the field. They all get counters, have effects. Next turn, they all get a second counter (lets say you get 6 sagas, now two counters each, and remember, Dance of the Manse alone gave Ramos 2 +1/+1's), then you cast the Thief, giving Ramos a 3rd counter, ultimately stealing 15 counters, and resetting all of your saga effects for the next turn. This leaves you with a massive board-state, and multiple threats that need to be managed.

  2. Starfield of Nyx: This card is amazing! The obvious bomb aspect it dropping this later, into a huge enchantment board-state, but played early, or after a wipe, it's a great recursion tool! It's very worth noting though, do NOT have this on the battlefield at the same time as Enchanted Evening....[unless you have Angelic Shield in play too, do you see the problem yet?]

  3. Progenitus: Has there ever been a better deck for this card? I actually consider it a mini-combo with Chromanticore, which in flavor terms, I consider to be the Herald of Progenitus. While it won't win you the game in a turn, or even two, per say, your friends will be massively impressed as you Bestow Ramos with Chromanticore, and then for virtually free, drop Progenitus on their heads. >:D

  4. Commander Damage: It's a much softer 'bomb' but Ramos is not to be overlooked. He regularly splashed 5 +1/+1's at a time (or fewer, multiple times) on himself, meaning just 2 swings knocks an opponent out. He already has flying, and some of the gods are specifically included to grant him other evasion tactics. Coupled with Ethereal Armor and Ancestral Mask, 1 hitting opponents becomes incredibly viable.

Update 11/22: Lands have been updated to reflect cards I already own (I want to build this once I feel it's in a place to be play tested). I actually didn't include my most expensive lands (I think steam vents is my actual highest value land card lol), because I didn't want to lose value on the Amulet of Vigor.
