Odric, Blood-Cursed is... good, actually. He's mostly gas and a wonky flicker value engine for keyword decks. So, after really liking the art on the card, I decided to try to make a budget deck (so far it'll cost me about $50 because I already own a bunch of the pricier cards). Without further ado... Odric.

Utilizing odric and his blood token generation to create artifacts and payoffs, and attempt to fly under the radar.

The created blood tokens will be able to:

  • Become cheap equipment to buff up a voltron or two

  • be used to ramp more Mana, and be utilized in Mana sink spells to kill off opponents with the right amount of tokens

  • be sacrificed for basic card draw/cycling (normal bloodtoken stuff)

  • be used to deal damage whenever they enter/exit the field

The goal is to play keyword creatures, play Odric, flicker Odric, get blood tokens, and use them to get buff or deal huge amounts of damage. With Arterial Alchemy, blood tokens become cheap equipment that you can keep generating more of and use Fighter Class to make their equip cost free. Alternatively, with Inspiring Statuary, the blood tokens can be tapped for Mana to pump our various X spells to wipe out either the board or the other players outright. Finally, the last way to win, is to just ping the other players to death with Reckless Firedancer and Ingenious Artillerist... though this is a bit more unlikely.

Cards like Archetype of Courage allow me to build more keywords as well as limit the amount of keywords opponents get to use. Valor and Agrression can essentially backdoor extra keywords onto things if they are either on the field themselves, or discarded as blood token Fodder for value. I've tried to get as many keywords as I can with a kind of mixed in value of some kind, and have several creatures with more keywords that can bring back creatures in graveyards as a way to keep the ball rolling if I lose something somewhat important. There are also several creatures that can help fetch combo pieces (i.e. Moon-Blessed Cleric fetching Arterial Alchemy or Fighter Class).
