A competitive Nin, The Pain Artist deck.

This is a deck that can do what other control decks cannot: compete at maximum power. After a lot of testing between JvP, Baral, Nezahal, Azami (Which is the best of the rest), Niv-Mizzet I have found that the best commander for control is our Queen of Pain: Nin the Pain Artist.

Mulligans:

AGGRESSIVELY MULLIGAN FOR MANA. We want to get our mana to a point where we can cast one spell on our turn and hold up counterspell mana for other turns. Sub five card starting hand is where I normally draw the line but the deck is so damn explosive that even a two card hand has the potential of giving you some disgusting plays.

General lines of play:

We're a big artifact deck, Strip Mine / Crucible lock is a fantastic way to cripple your opponent who runs a + three color mana base or a way to consolidate an early win if we draw a very fast hand.

Tezzeret fetching Winter Orb. Ends the match right then and there if you hit the right timing.

The second method of using Winter Orb is using it in conjunction with Rewind and Treachery creating an asymmetrical board state where you are always coming out ahead on resources.

Declaration of Naught naming their wincon, commander, critical tutor spell (Doomsday, Ad Nauseum et. al.). Jeleva, Kess, Brago, Oloro, Narset, Flash Hulk and Food Chain decks all crumple to a well named / timed Declaration. Declaration of Naught is a "cute" card but it's mana rate, it's difficulty of interaction and most importantly - how incredibly predictable most cEDH decks are make this a card that is just too hard to deal with.

Using Vedalken Shackles in a similar way as Declaration of Naught. Make it so that your opponents decline to cast their commanders otherwise you steal them, shoot them for a zillion and look at the illustration of what tempo and card advantage can do to a game.

Finally the namesake of the deck get planeswalkers out, protect them, let them ultimate, acquire the win.
