In the Hands of the Fates [PRIMER]

This is a politically-focused Triad of Fates deck. I'm aiming for about 75%, not trying to be competitive. The goal is to manipulate your opponents into killing each other, either by assisting them or getting out of their way. Triad is very slow, but as a result very unassuming. There's a lot of utility, such as returning a stolen creature to its owner, turning other players tokens into cards, or flickering out creatures attacking your temporary allies. You also have a suite of cards like Virtus's Maneuver and Dawnbreak Reclaimer that incentivize people to ally with you. Most of the cards focus on benefiting or hurting a single opponent, though there's a small measure of group hug. I don't want to be playing stax or pillow fort, as those directly detract from the fun of the table. I like cards like Marchesa's Decree over Ghostly Prison because they don't make it harder or taxing to attack me, just a wee bit annoying.

The Monarchy is a great political tool. You can lend it out to someone to get an ally, or introduce it then let your opponents squabble among themselves. The most important part of this deck is to not let your opponents feel threatened enough to band together against you. Ideally you want to be buffing one person and sending them after another, letting the other person sit back so you can turn them against your first buddy. Again, the name of the game is manipulation. It's particularly important to make yourself appear weaker than you are, letting your allies think they are setting you up for an easy second place. It helps to lay all your cards on the table, sometimes literally. And if anyone disapproves being manipulated, they can find out how they like a 3v1.
