  • I added some card draw style effects to help you get the rocks and the win.
  • 1x dig through time (although high CMC most with delve most likely to be less)
  • 1x Treasure Cruise (although high CMC most with delve most likely to be less)

  • 1x Cyclonic Rift (I know it's a bit pricey but so worth it. Might be an idea to see if anyone has one for trade_
  • 1x snap (It's a free on mana positive bounce spell must I say more)
  • 1x As Foretold (It's kind of a pet card for me but a free counter on your opponents turns or you get to cast something main phase without tapping is good)
  • 1x Future Sight (Another pet card of mine but playing with the top deck is strong and you can play some mind games if they know you have a counter on top)
  • 1x Torrential Gearhulk (Decent stats especially as a surprise blocker but he really shines with that ability)

  • 1x Command Tower (Not needed in mono colour)
  • 1x Sphinx of the Final Word (personally don't think its worth the mana cost)
  • 1x Pearl Lake Ancient (It's just one big creature I don't think it does enough for the deck)
  • 1x Rise from the Tides (do you really get that many zombies to justify the CMC)
  • 1x Arcanis the Omnipotent (I think there us enough draw in the deck now to not need him, plus he is a creature so he may be removed before you use his effect and then you've wasted 6 manna)
  • 1x Aethersnatch (CMC is way too high in my opinion)
  • 1x Sphinx's Tutelage (not enough mill to be viable)
  • 1x Lunar Mystic (Enough draw that this isn't necessary)
  • 1x Confirm Suspicions (don't need the draw from the clues so the CMC isn't worth the pay off)
  • 1x Telling Time (there are better draw effects now)
  • 1x Summary Dismissal (Swapped with Trickbind)
  • 1x Gather Specimens (Seems like too much mana)
  • 1x Dismiss (too much mana)
  • 1x AEtherspouts (not sure if you'd want all that mana held up just in case)
  • 1x Azami, Lady of Scrolls (not sure if enough wizards to fully utilise)
  • 1x Telepathy (it's basically a comfort blanket if you feel more comfortable with it so you know what people have rather than learn what needs to be countered leave it in)
  • 1x Pull from the Deep (Not necessary in my opinion)
  • 1x Cancel (there are already enough 3cmc counter spells)
  • 1x Learn from the Past (not necessary)
  • 1x Blatant Thievery (It's a lot of mana and there are cards with similar effects but better for CMC if you wanted that effect)
  • 1x Overwhelming Denial (I think that the mana cost isn't worth the effect and the surge cost makes seems a little awkward at times)
  • 1x Voidmage Prodigy (not sure if there are enough wizards to fully utilise this ability. if you wanted an effect like this I would suggest glen elendra archmage because its a counter on a stick and can be used twice)
  • 1x Foil (although it's a free counterspell which is really strong allowing you to tap out you have to 3 for 1 yourself and need the island in hand so may just sit there doing nothing)
  • 1x Devastation Tide (I cut this instead of coastal breach because this is only good for its miracle cost so if you didn't want to cast it at that point you draw it then coastal breach is cheaper. if you prefer Devastation tide to coastal breach by all means swap them around and test with both to see which one you prefer)
  • 1x Guile (I never felt I wanted this in my hand or cast it during my testing)
  • 1x Exclude (This plus essence scatter is too much creature specific counter for my liking so I cut this one feel free to swap them around.)
  • When you want to upgrade here are some options with rough prices (In no order)
  • 1x Chrome Mox (~£15-£20 It's a mana rock that adds colour which helps so much)
  • 1x Cursed Totem (~£2.50 This card is just straight up good for your deck with it not affecting you at all plus if you get this out you wont need to waste a counterspell on a creature because of its activated ability because this just stops it)
  • 1x Grafdigger's Cage (~£2.50 maybe less. There seems to be a few more decks now that bring creatures straight from the graveyard onto the battlefield and one or two effects that go from library and this just stops it.)
  • 1x Mana Vault (~£15-£20. just a really good artefact I don't think I need to explain this one its played early and just does some serious work)
  • 1x Back to Basics (~£8. It just doesn't affect you and limits everyone else's mana so it gives you quite the advantage)
  • 1x Rhystic Study (~£10-£15. This card is just straight up insane! It,s continuous card draw if people are stupid enough not to pay the 1. but if they do pay it, It works as a taxation effect and stops people playing something more expensive because they don't want you to draw more cards)
  • 1x Copy Artifact (~£20+. The price varies quite a bit with this card I find. It can be any mana rock on the field or maybe even an artefact an opponent has that will benefit you. Also it opens up an additional win con I can tell you about)
  • 1x Consecrated Sphinx (~£10. As you probably know drawing cards is strong especially in a control deck so this card just draws a stupid amount of cards if it stays around.)
  • 1x Thing in the Ice (~£10-£15.It just sits there and makes people less likely to play creatures because you can just bounce them all at any time by just casting a spell.)
  • 1x Sensei's Divining Top (~£10-£20, quite a wide price range because of varying conditions. This card is just super strong in a control deck allowing you to look at your top 3 cards for an answer)
  • 1x Mystical Tutor (~£2-£5. It's a tutor for instants and sorceries so kind of a no brainier it gets you what you need)
  • 1x fabricate (~£2.It tutors for a mana rock or the win)
  • 1x Merchant Scroll (~£2. A tutor for an instant, it grabs you the counterspell you need, the draw spell, the removal or even the win.)
  • Once the deck is getting more tuned for going for the combo win you may want to add a few more cantrips and cheap card draw style effects to make digging more efficient.)
