Welcome to Animal Planet.

This is a deck that strives to provide a somewhat competitive game against new players, or a way to bring some casual/flavorful antics to a local game store. It also strives to answer the question: How bad can a deck be and still occasionally win?

This deck has two fatal flaws

A diehard commitment to flavor.

Above all else Animal Planet is a deck with animals in the art. No anthropomorphic beings. No dinosaurs. Preferably no beasts type creatures that do not have obvious analogs to real life animals. (Glademuse: Ok, Rampaging Baloths: Not Ok) Some fantasy animals are ok, I've decided that Pegasus and Unicorns are ok as well as cards like Regal Bunnicorn.

Use of auras as a main wincon.

The extremely limited card pool that we have to work with gives us two options, a token deck that revolves around Pathbreaker Ibex and Parallel Lives or a deck that revolves around cards like Colossification, the umbras and Prodigious Growth. Of these two options, the overrun strategy is more played out and also less telegraphed. Umbras also open our deck up to getting 2:1'd pretty easily and if the idea is to be a jobber deck, having obvious vulnerabilities is something we value.

It should be noted that the intent is to play this deck to the best of it's abilities and to continue to upgrade it as much as possible. I believe that the fatal flaws are more than enough sandbagging on their own.
