jawz on GURW Loot Too Cute

I'm still tinkering. Something about all the crazy exile play loops feels unique and interesting. Should just trash the deck but... there's something about it.

I feel like Jodah, the Unifier gives a top end threat that it was missing.

One problem with Jodah is that when I'm casting a legend, they're usually mana value 3, and I only have Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius to pay off Jodah's trigger. But The Goose Mother is another play at mana value 2 that surprisingly fits in very well with the rest of the deck (especially with Rocco, Street Chef and Aurlock). I always wanted goose mommy to be good somewhere so I'm happy to try it. If you get some food artifacts in play, Loot, the Key to Everything accelerates.

I had to admit that with all the legends I'm kinda committed to a Relic of Legends mana fixer. Once the relic's in play that helps goose mommy too.

With the changes, the threat level of the deck's plays seem to be a good step higher. But the deck is insanely hard to pilot. Sequencing between Jodah's trigger and Kellan's trigger and discover triggers and the Outcaster's card draws and plotting and play from exile and generating foods and on and on. It's harder than combat mathing for real.

There's a good argument for cutting one of the angles. Like cut the adventure stuff, or cut the discover stuff. Or cut the plotting stuff? It's really hard to say.

This us the kindof list i’d end up building (again, Green-Blue, but it’d be super-easy to make this mono-green)

Without a ceiling for your budget there’s a lot of options.

Seth made this list last year which is very hydra themed, and likely to play pretty closely to how you’re wanting, by making riddiculously sized hydras.

Personally i’d be going down the route of playing Green with a splash of Blue, to run Hydroid Krasis and The Goose Mother. Using the established Prime-Titan deck as a base, you could drop The One Ring and Primeval Titan for those Krasis and Goose mother, and still have a very viable/competitive brew (you could also very reasonably drop Cultivator Colossus and Summoner's Pact for more hydras also).

Nice! that sounds like a heck of a run plakjekaas! I also opened a copy of The Goose Mother but it was in my prize packs after the event lol... your brew sounds wild and maybe its because I'm both rusty and new to draft running 3 colors just seems risky! (again the pamphlet in the pre-release kit was like my deck building bible).

I played against a few 3 color decks seemed to be popular... well at least 2 out of 4 of my games were that matchup.

Opened The Goose Mother as my promo, looked at all my green and blue to see if they're was something there. Got a nice deck with lots of green food cards, and blue flyers and control spells. A bit of ramp too. Notable synergy of Gingerbrute and Welcome to Sweettooth worked really well, especially if you put down an additional food token during the second chapter turn.

Splashing white for both Threadbind Clique and Twining Twins's adventures was easy, with Evolving Wilds, Return from the Wilds and As Foretold and a single plains, I was never struggling to find the colors.

I ended up going 5-1, only losing the game where I didn't draw my first Island until turn 7. It's was enough for 2nd place out of 24. It was a good day.

I'm not sure if it'd be crossing the line or not, but I feel like Falco Spara Bird typal probably likes Bloodline Pretender, maybe it could be an honourary Bird? Mirror Entity is another interesting way to improve the base power of your birds, and is itself a bird and soldier. You might be able to get some mileage out of an Aven Mimeomancer, this can make your small stuff bigger or let you cast stuff with Falco, maybe a x1? It can also heavily nerf your opponent's creatures, and it works with Bower Passage so a creature can't block your flyers if you use it aggressively to shrink a threat. Not sure if Soulcatcher is a good fit potentially, it offers you a way to get some counters on things while also synergizing with cards that care about bird soldiers.

Welp, I was searching Scryfall and came upon what must be a new card, and I don't think it's an Un-card? Anyways, she's The Goose Mother, and the funny part was that I wondered if I should suggest Hydroid Krasis, but this is even a Bird! I'm not saying you should run this card, but I would be remiss to say the least if I didn't at least bring it your attention. Forgive me if you already knew about it (I still can't believe it's not an Un card)!

If you ever want to look at a sideboard something like Judge's Familiar would probably work very well to hassle people running board wipes. Not sure if Birds would really care about Elephant Grass, but I think it might be another good sideboard card, you can use Falco to get rid of age counters if it's been out for a bit. I don't know if people play Freyalise's Radiance is another card that is backbreaking vs some decks, and Falco can strip counters as needed. Maybe Mind Harness, that's really situational, but when it's good it's really good.

If you wanted to upgrade your deck a bit, you could easily keep up a Mystic Remora if you have Falco out, I guess it depends if most people play creature heavy decks in your area. Many higher power decks use less creatures, and paying 4 is not realistic for most decks.
