Polymorphous Rush

Instant

Strive - Polymorphous Rush costs 1U more to cast for each target beyond the first.

Choose a creature on the battlefield. Any number of target creatures you control each become a copy of that creature until end of turn.

Only Precursor Golem and the other creature will become copies of the chosen creature. You won't get any copies and the 3/3 golem tokens will be unaffected.

The second ability on Precursor Golem requires the spell to target a single golem and only that golem. In your example, since Polymorphous Rush has two targets, Precursor Golem 's second ability will not copy it.

From the Gatherer for Precursor Golem :

1/1/2011: The second ability triggers whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only one Golem and no other object or player. That Golem can be Precursor Golem itself, one of the Golem tokens it created, or any other Golem. It doesn’t matter who controls the Golem.

Let's say I cast Polymorphous Rush targeting Precursor Golem and another creature, but not the two golem tokens. Do I get to turn 6 creatures into a different creature, or only 4?

Some Maybeboard cards I think should be in the main deck: Benthicore , Inspired Sphinx , Kederekt Leviathan , Pentavus , Intruder Alarm , and Soothsaying . Myr Turbine and Heartstone are kind of meh, I'd replace with Genesis Chamber and Unstable Obelisk . I'd also swap some counterspells - Geist Snatch , Summoner's Bane and Lazotep Plating in for Cancel , Dissipate and Rewind .

Cards I'd cut: Sage of Epityr , Talrand, Sky Summoner , Bane of Bala Ged , Polymorphous Rush .

Cards I'm not really impressed by: Stormsurge Kraken , Tidespout Tyrant , Windreader Sphinx (depends how much flying you end up with), Sphinx Ambassador , Darksteel Colossus , Pathrazer of Ulamog , It That Betrays . I think it's better to focus on big guys that also have ETB effects than use these.

Some other cards to consider (plus the ones I sent you): Erratic Mutation , Synthetic Destiny , Evacuation , Aether Gale , AEtherize , Crystal Ball , Interpret the Signs , Precognitive Perception , Seer's Lantern , Ugin's Insight , Treasure Map  Flip, Zhalfirin Void .

@xander11: Etrata has unblockable as an innate ability :P

@KeelHaul10: Mirror Gallery is a strange inclusion. Is it just for Stunt Double? Or was a past version of the deck more clone heavy?

In any case if you want to keep the Mirror Gallery, Blade of Selves can do wonders. In the late game, Polymorphous Rush can also be a hilarious wincon that comes out of nowhere!

This is also why putting a creature "onto the battlefield tapped and attacking" doesn't trigger any "whenever creature attacks" abilities, because "whenever creature attacks" means when it is declared as an attacker, and something put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking isn't declared as an attacker, it's just attacking already.

Also worth noting, if you copy Narset with the Polymorphous Rush, you will have to pick one copy and put the rest in your graveyard as a state-based action, before any other spells or abilities can resolve.

Declaring attackers is what you do during declare attackers step. "Whenever creature attacks..." is triggered ability that triggers, when creature is declared as an attacker. So as you declare your attackers Narset's ability triggers. Still in declare attacker's step after SBA's are checked, but before AP gets priority that trigger is put onto stack. Then that trigger resolves and you exile top 4 cards. After that you can cast Polymorphous Rush and as you can see you are already past the point, where attackers are declared, so it won't trigger.

Playing with a friend, I declared Narset, Enlightened Master and Stormchaser Mage as attackers. Doing so immediately exiled the top 4 cards of my library. 1 of the 4 cards exiled was Polymorphous Rush. So our question is: If I cast Polymorphous Rush in order to change Stormchaser Mage into a copy of Narset, Enlightened Master, would the copy trigger 4 more cards to be exiled? Or would it not trigger because attackers have already been declared? I have a feeling that this isn't going to work out how I thought, but my friend and I searched the web for quite a while and couldn't find any concrete evidence. I mean, Stormchaser Mage was tapped and attacking and then changed to the copy before the declare blockers step. The wording of the card is what was confusing us; "Whenever Narset Enlightened Master attacks, exile the top 4 cards..." So, maybe our question is, whats the difference between declaring attackers, and whenever a creature attacks? Thank you in advance for your help!
