I've always wanted to build a hate bear deck, and I've had a Chulane sitting around without a home for a while. Is it possible to build Chulane in a way that is not just value-Bant? Perhaps. Maybe if (almost) all of your creatures are just dinky 2/2s with taxing effects.

The deck is really fun, and Chulane mostly helps me stay in the action as I keep adding creatures to the board but can almost never actually participate in combat.
