Talrand gets an upgrade

Ultimately we want to play our cantrips on our opponent's turns to make as many drakes as possible to swing with.

How to win

Our main wincon requires Talrand + 1 drake on the field and we cast Mass Polymorph. Mass Polymorph resolves and we create another drake. We exile Talrand and our 2 drakes and play the only three creatures in our deck: Archaeomancer, Deadeye Navigator, and Peregrine Drake. Stack your triggers like this: Peregrine Drake enters first, untapping five lands. Next, Deadeye Navigator comes in and soulbonds to Peregrine Drake, and then Archaeomancer comes in grabbing an instant or sorcery out of your graveyard. You now can tap the five lands and use two of them to flicker Peregrine Drake which untaps all the lands again. This nets you three mana each time and you can generate infinite mana. You can then flicker Deadeye Navigator and soulbond him to Archaeomancer and then return any number of instants and sorceries you want to your hand.

  • Play as many instants and sorceries as we can with our infinite mana to make as many drakes as possible to swing with.
  • You could cast Blue Sun's Zenith to draw your library and play all your spells. Recast Blue Sun's Zenith as the only card in your library to deck your opponents.
  • You could make infinite birds by imprinting Swan Song to Isochron Scepter. Because you are casting the card using Isochron Scepter this will also make infinite drakes.
  • You could mill your opponents to death by imprinting Reality Shift to Isochron Scepter. Because you are casting the card using Isochron Scepter this will also make infinite drakes.

Backup Infinite Mana

If we are unable to generate infinite mana using Mass Polymorph, we can do it another way as well. You will need Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal + Mana Rocks that produce at least 3 mana Imprint Dramatic Reversal to Isochron Scepter. Pay 2, tap Isochron Scepter and play a copy of Dramatic Reversal, float 1 mana. Untap mana rocks and scepter, repeat

If we are generating infinite mana this way, we will require Sculpting Steel to copy our Isochron Scepter to use the Swan Song or Reality Shift method mentioned above.
