Starting with the precon then going to upgrade.

Goal: Lean into -1/-1 counter theme more. Incorporate more wither if possible. No real interest to add infect or aim for an alt poison win.

Generally going to try and keep the same number of card types but will probably cut 1-2 lands. Also plan to try and lower decks original average cmc of 3.67.

Upgrades:

Cut Archfiend of Ifnir for Maha, Its Feathers Night. Archfiend is a great card, but in a cycle or discard deck, not here. Maha is same cost and makes any -1/-1 counter a kill.

Cut Ferrafor, Young Yew for Generous Patron. Yew is too expensive and better in a different deck. Added card draw.

Cut Puppeteer Clique for Quillspike. Not looking to reanimate temporarily. Quillspike lets me easily remove counters and has great combo potential.

Cut Liliana, Death Wielder for Nest of Scarabs. Lily was way too expensive. Scarabs adds good utility.

Cut Cathartic Reunion for Farseek. No classic green ramp in precon.

Cut Burning Curiosity for Kodama's Reach. More ramp.

Cut Channeler Initiate for Spitting Dilophosaurus. Sometimes mana dork for better -1/-1 counter creature.

Cut Tree of Perdition for Persistent Constrictor. I love the tree but it isn't on theme.

Cut Grave Titan for Dawnhand Dissident. Titan was off theme. Dissident gives card advantage and can move/remove counters.

Cut Harmonize for Ammit Eternal. Amit is potentially better card draw and potentially draws more. Downside is it requires my commander out.

Cut Canyon Slough and Festering Thicket for The Ozolith and Luxior, Giada's Gift. Cut two tap lands for Ozolith which can nuke a players creature and Luxior, a combo piece / -1/-1 counter immunity.

Cut Commander's Sphere for Cultivate. Better ramp. This deck has green.

Cut Wickersmith's Tools for Obelisk Spider. Tools is a one-off effect that requires a lot of work. Spider is more immediately useful.

Cut Lasting Tarfire for Crumbling Ashes. Not leaning in aristocrats as much as just murder.

Cut Hoarder's Greed for Atomize. Expensive card draw that possibly draws a lot or just 2. Replaced with synergistic murder.

Cut Chimil, the Inner Sun for All Will Be One. I like Chimil and the card advantage but AWBO combos with Everlasting Torment and overall murders things.

Cut Fire Covenant for Golgari Charm. Charm's more versatile. Covenant is great but may take too much life.

Cut Sheltered Thicket for Corrosive Mentor. Getting flooded in play testing. Added more wither.
