Final Reward

Instant

Exile target creature.

Neotrup on can i have dupe creatures …

It's also worth noting that the restriction is by card name, you can have duplicate effects if they have different names, such as Final Death and Final Reward . The restriction also only applies to deck construction, so you can have multiple copies of a creature in play by using cards like Clone .

DemonDragonJ on How is Thought Collapse Justified?

Employees of WotC, or at least Mark Rosewater, have stated that a multicolored card can have a lower overall mana cost than a mono-colored card that performs the same effect, or can be more powerful than mono-colored cards with the same converted mana cost. For example, Aurelia's Fury is more powerful than Rolling Thunder and Merciless Eviction is more powerful than Final Judgement, whereas Unmake is less expensive than are Final Death or Final Reward.

Therefore, I am wondering how Thought Collapse can be strictly better than Psychic Strike when the former card is mono-colored and the latter card is multicolored; does that not violate WotC's policy on that matter?

What does everyone else say about this? How can Thought Collapse be better than Psychic Strike?

Hey man, your Friendly Neighbourhood Deckbuilder here. as you requested ill be helping you with your lifegain deck today. some cards i would remove and reasons as to why.

Accursed Witch  Flip -for what she does (which is meh at best) she costs too much mana. too slow. Night Market Lookout bad card Opaline Unicorn way better mana rocks out there Xathrid Gorgon slow for what it wants to do. much better cards in these colours with the same cmc. Paradise Mantle dont really need it Final Reward way too expensive for what it does Pharika's Cure really weak for a hard 2B Tribute to Hunger giving your opponent a choice is most times bad. token decks exist. Unholy Hunger 5 cmc to kill one creature and a requirement to hit the incidental life gain? oof. Fate Forgotten my recommendations will render obsolete Fated Retribution better replacement recommended Visara the Dreadful Seer's Lantern meh Elbrus, the Binding Blade  Flip Shimmering Grotto you can stand to cut a land of two Swamp see above Vampire Envoy can do better Desecration Demon its fine but not necessary Reya Dawnbringer lets face it, great ability, but with 9 mana i hope youre doing more than waiting until your next turn for a big play... with 9 mana you wanna try to win games.

here is what i have for you my friend

Heliod's Intervention one of the better cards in white recently, this deck loves the options here. Felidar Sovereign win con Merciless Eviction probably the best boardwipe these colours can ask for Fumigate amazing wrath Suture Priest great at any point in the game Utter End fantastic removal at a fair cost Talisman of Hierarchy decent rock Gray Merchant of Asphodel life gain synonymous Erebos, God of the Dead too good not to run Vona, Butcher of Magan so much better than visara K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth best black card next to his dad Athreos, God of Passage incredibly good to keep wearing out your opponents. much better costed than reya Torment of Hailfire good game. Bolas's Citadel so beyond powerful when your life could be 300... Tainted Sigil very impressive when partnered with a big life drain spell (...if you havent already won) Bloodchief Ascension a game winner if not dealt with Test of Endurance win con Black Market gotta pump those x spells up!! Beacon of Immortality very cheeky with tainted remedy. dont use against me dawg.

Final Reward needs to be replaced with a much better exile. Path of Exile comes to mind or something more cost efficient. 5 cost exile is way to high when many now are 1 to 3 cost. I would remove Legion Conquistador and put in something more use full. Having 8 cards that basically do the same thing is not very cost efficient. Yes it may allow you to get more vamps on the board but having 8 that are only basic 2/2 with no life link or anything effective is only usful to help out your Bloodline Keeper  Flip I would maybe try a Serene Steward or Vizkopa Guildmage could combo well.

Cereal_Killer on Sultai New Eldrazi(+) - Exile all their stuff

First of all, in the description you said: "The purpose of this deck is to exile all YOUR stuff and occasionally use it". I think you just missed an "opponent" between your and stuff.
Then you need to understand what's the purpose of the deck, do you just want to exile some cards (and so use the eldrazi) or you basically want to steal your opponent's cards (and so Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Lord of the Void and Nightveil Specter).
Then, since you are asking for help, you should say also what's your budget. In a three-colour deck, for instance, I would suggest fetch lands or shock lands, if you are planning the second purpose and you want to keep it three-coloured (Polluted Delta, Watery Grave, Overgrown Tomb and so on). Or, if you just want to destroy your opponent with big eldrazi, the tron lands (Urza's Mine, Urza's Power Plant, Urza's Tower) could be a good idea (maybe not in a three-colour deck).
Something I can't really understand is why you have chosen Final Reward. Yes, it exiles, but it costs too much and you don't have really good cards that do something with exiled cards opponent has (do not consider Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Lord of the Void, cause their effects only work with cards they have exiled). Maybe could be better a Fatal Push or a Doom Blade if you don't want to spend money on it.

Neotrup on Really deep into Perplexing Chimera

I don't think you understand the stack. Here's a couple breakdown's of what could be happening:

Situation 1:
Player 2 casts In Garruk's Wake, Perplexing Chimera's ability triggers, nobody responds, so you choose to use the ability and gain control of In Garruk's Wake while Player 2 gains control of Perplexing Chimera. Player 3 then decides to cast Final Reward targeting one of your creatures, and Player 2's Perplexing Chimera triggers. Again, nobody responds and Player 2 get's to decide whether to make an exchange. I'm guessing they won't because they have no stake in the a spell targeting your creature, but let's say they do. Player 4 then decides to cast Archangel Avacyn  Flip hoping to make their side indestructible, but Player 3's Perplexing Chimera triggers, and once resolves Player 3 decides to make the exchange, getting Archangel Avacyn  Flip and getting to use it's trigger. Your In Garruk's Wake finally resolves, destroying all creatures of Player 2 and Player 4, as well as any planeswalkers Player 3 controls.

Situation 2:
Player 2 casts In Garruk's Wake, triggering Perplexing Chimera. For some reason Player 3 doesn't want to see what you'll decide and casts Final Reward right away targeting one of your creatures, again triggering Perplexing Chimera. Again not wanting to see what happens Player 4 casts Archangel Avacyn  Flip triggering Perplexing Chimera for a third time. Now out of response players start letting the stack resolve. As there's an In Garruk's Wake on the stack you very much want to use the topmost trigger to gain control of Archangel Avacyn  Flip and get the trigger for yourself. Now Archangel Avacyn  Flip resolves, triggers, and the trigger resolves as people are out of responses. You're now left with the question as to whether you want to give Player 3 Perplexing Chimera and Player 4 Final Reward. As you'll get to choose the new target you promptly say 'Yes' and choose a creature of Player 4 or Player 2's for a reason that will become apparent. Now the creature gets exiled and your asked one final question: do you give Player 4 In Garruk's Wake or leave it in the hands of Player 2? As the spell doesn't target you'll gain no benefit from changing the controller, but you will get to choose which one of them's creatures and planeswalkers get left unscathed.

pedroedmarcos on Really deep into Perplexing Chimera

Ok, I'm really perplexed about a situation with this card. So, Perplexing Chimera says that: "Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may exchange control of Perplexing Chimera and that spell. If you do, you may choose new targets for the spell. (If the spell becomes a permanent, you control that permanent.)"

There is an part of the rulling that says:

"In some unusual cases, you may not control Perplexing Chimera when its triggered ability resolves (perhaps because the triggered ability triggered again and resolved while the original ability was on the stack). In these cases, you can exchange control of Perplexing Chimera and the spell that causes the ability to trigger, even if you control neither of them. If you do, youll be able to change targets of the spell, not the spells new controller."

I'm an EDH Player, so multiplayer is a reality to me, and by that comes my question:

RANDOM SITUATION

Let's say is a 4 player game, and I'm player 1, and I am the owner of the perplexing chimera. Player 2 decides to cast In Garruk's Wake. I, as the controller of the perplexing chimera decided to change control of the chimera and the spell. Player 3, decided to vanish one other creature of mine with Final Reward. It triggers again, so I change the control of it. Then, player number 4 flashes Archangel Avacyn  Flip. It triggers again I change the control of the spell, Player 4 casts an Counterspell on his own Avacyn. Again the triggler happens and I change the control of it. And FINALLY, it resolves. Am I the player that will decide the target of all of those spells regardless if I am or not the controller of the chimera? Since the Archangel Avacyn  Flip will enter first on the battlefield can I choose her as the target of Final Reward.Sorry If I'm talking nonsense but I'm Perplexed
