Welcome, fellow planeswalkers! Today, we're delving into the enchanting world of enchantments to uncover the mysteries of Estrid the Masked. This versatile and powerful commander has an uncanny ability to generate value through enchantments, making her the perfect leader for a deck focused on control, protection, and gradual advantage. In this introduction, we'll guide you through the key strategies and synergies that make this Estrid the Masked decklist a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

Estrid the Masked, a Bant planeswalker with a starting loyalty of 3, is known for her unique abilities that revolve around enchantments. Her +2 ability allows you to untap each enchanted permanent you control, providing you with a burst of resources and allowing you to outpace your opponents. Her -1 ability creates a Mask token, which you can attach to a permanent you control to protect it from harm. Lastly, her -7 ultimate ability replenishes your hand with enchantments from your graveyard, ensuring that your enchantment-based strategies never lose steam.

Music to listen to while reading my decklist:

Estrid the Masked is a white, blue, and green-aligned Planeswalker who specializes in enchantments and aura-based magic. She is known for her mysterious nature and her ability to wear multiple enchantment masks that allow her to assume different identities.

Estrid's lore is somewhat limited, as she has only appeared in the Commander 2018 set. However, some elements of her story can be pieced together from the available information:

  1. Estrid is a native of the plane of Theros, which is inspired by Greek mythology and features gods, heroes, and monsters. Theros is a world where the power of belief and devotion can shape reality, making it a fitting home for an enchantment-based Planeswalker like Estrid.

  2. Estrid is an expert in the art of mask-crafting, a talent that she uses to create enchanted masks that grant her various powers and abilities. These masks allow her to assume different identities and even transform her appearance, making it difficult for others to discern her true nature.

  3. Estrid's primary motivation is to uncover the secrets of the multiverse, which she does by traveling between planes and studying their unique enchantments. She is particularly interested in the magical forces that bind the planes together and seeks to understand how they can be harnessed.

  4. While Estrid's goals and allegiances remain somewhat enigmatic, she is known to have a strong connection with the gods of Theros. Some speculate that she serves one or more of these deities, while others believe that she may even be a demigod herself.

Overall, Estrid the Masked is a mysterious and enigmatic character with a unique set of magical skills. Her mastery of enchantments and mask-crafting makes her a formidable Planeswalker, and her ongoing quest for knowledge about the multiverse is a driving force behind her actions.

Estrid, the Masked is a powerful commanderwho specializes in enchantments. To win with Estrid, you'll want to focus on building up a strong board state of enchantments and using her abilities to their fullest potential.

Here are some tips to help you win with Estrid:

  1. Ramp: Estrid's +2 ability allows you to untap up to one target enchanted permanent, which means you can use it to untap lands enchanted with cards like Wild Growth or Utopia Sprawl. This can help you ramp up your mana quickly and get ahead of your opponents.

  2. Protect Estrid: Estrid is a powerful commander, but she's also vulnerable to removal spells and attacks. Use enchantments like sphere of safty, creatures like vexilus praetor, instands like cyclonic rift and removal like wrath of god to protect her and keep her on the battlefield.

  3. Enchantress: One of the key aspects of this deck is its focus on enchantress effects, which trigger whenever you cast an enchantment spell. Cards like Argothian Enchantress, Eidolon of Blossoms, and Satyr Enchanter provide you with a steady stream of card advantage, allowing you to maintain a full grip while controlling the board

  4. Stax: To support Estrid's untap ability, the deck includes various enchantments and artifacts that can tap down your opponent's resources or generate additional value when untapped. Cards like Stasis, Winter Orb and static orb will keep your opponents at bay, while you use Estrid's ability to maintain your own tempo.

  5. Combo:

-Siona captain of the pyleas and Shielded by faith: When these two cards are played together, the player can enchant Siona with Shielded by Faith, making her indestructible. This triggers Siona's ability, allowing the player to create a soldier token. This triggers shielded by faith and let you enchant the soldier token with it. This triggers Siona's abillity to create a soldier and enchant it with shielded by faith. The player can then repeat this process as many times as they want, creating an infinite number of soldier tokens.

-Enchanted Evening and Cleansing Meditation: when these two cards are played together, you make all permanents enchantmens and then destroy them all. Cleansing medititation also allows you to bring back your enchantment. This leaves your opponents with nothing (yes this us Evil).

-Chain Veil and Estrid: This combo requires a significant amount of setup and mana investment, but it can be incredibly powerful if executed correctly. It is important to make sure you have enough mana sources that are enchanted and protection to ensure the combo can be executed effectively.

The combo works by first having mana sources that are enchanted (4+mana), Estrid on the battlefield, along with The Chain Veil. You can then use Estrid's -1 ability to enchant The Chain Veil with a mask. Then use the chain veil so you can use Estrid again. Now use her +2 ability to untap The Chain Veil and any other enchanted permanents you control. (If you repeat tis you have infinitr mana and need to look for a win condition or stop this loop at 7 loyalty. If you let Estrid die by using her -7 and recast her you mill yourself and bring all enchantments from your deck into play. Now you can win with labratory maniac or a infinite manaoutlet like Destiny spinner to close the game.
